Role Overview

As a Senior iOS Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of ID.me’s mobile platform, working on products at the intersection of identity, commerce, and trust. You’ll contribute to the ongoing development of the ID.me Authenticator app, design and deliver iOS SDKs for both internal and external use, and work closely with senior technical leaders to bring the brand new ID.me Super App to life.

Your work will directly impact millions of users by enabling secure authentication, frictionless digital identity interactions, and new forms of engagement—all while upholding the highest standards of security, privacy, and usability.

This role is based in our Mountain View, CA office, 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance the ID.me Authenticator app, focusing on performance, security, and user experience.
  • Build and maintain reusable iOS SDKs that support internal applications and external partner integrations.
  • Collaborate with senior technical leaders to implement the architecture and development of the ID.me Super App, which will span use cases including identity management, shopping, healthcare, and more.
  • Implement secure authentication flows, including biometric login, passkeys, and multi-factor authentication.
  • Apply best practices for security, privacy, and compliance in mobile development.
  • Work closely with Product, Design, Backend, and Security teams to deliver cohesive, high-quality solutions.
  • Contribute to team best practices, including code quality, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of professional experience developing and shipping consumer-facing iOS applications at scale, with expertise in Swift, modern iOS frameworks (e.g., SwiftUI, Combine, UIKit), and architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing and delivering SDKs for third-party developers.
  • Understanding of mobile security principles, including encryption, secure storage, and authentication protocols (OAuth2, OpenID Connect).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government)
  • Familiarity with digital wallets, biometric authentication, and passkey-based login.
  • Exposure to greenfield product development and large-scale app launches.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and monitoring for mobile applications.
  • Understanding of IAM compliance, data protection regulations, and App Store review guidelines.

The annual base salary listed does not include a company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity and benefits which will be determined based on experience, skills, education, relevant training, geographic location and role.
