Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Client Data Exchange Solutions (CDES) team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in architecting, designing, developing complex software solutions working with RxClaim on the AS/400 platform. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of successful AS/400/RPG/Synon, Experience in legacy system modernization leveraging GCP/Azure, product centric mindset, and the ability to drive the technical direction of the projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide solutions and design complex functionality within the RxClaim application (CDES area)

  • Help define standards / methodologies / guidelines, and ensure compliance while aligning solutions to the RxClaim application architecture.

  • Lead modernization efforts for IBMi systems, including automation and integration with cloud platforms (Azure/GCP).

  • Leverage internal development tools and CI/CD processes.

  • Provide technical guidance to project teams and influence best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience and a deep understanding of AS/400 application development.

  • 5 + years of application development experience in RPG, RPGLE and CL; Synon2/E (aka COOL 2/E)

  • 5+ years of IBMi SQL experience

  • 5+ years of experience leading application teams to deliver technical improvements and initiatives.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with RxClaim or similar pharmacy claim adjudication systems.

  • Background in Healthcare or Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM).

  • Experience in legacy system modernization.

  • Familiarity with IBMi integration with cloud platforms.

  • Demonstrated successful completion of several medium to large scope projects; proficiency working on all phases of SDLC and with problem determination and resolution through research and fact finding.


Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$101,970.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
