About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer within the Donor Information System (DIS) team of the Plasma-Derived Therapies (PDT) business unit, you will play a key role in building modern, resilient, and intelligent enterprise applications. You will work as a hands-on full-stack engineer specializing in .NET, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development, while also contributing to AI-enabled and data-driven system enhancements.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable microservices, distributed systems, and front-end interfaces that support DIS capabilities across the donor lifecycle. In this role, you will partner closely with architects, product owners, quality teams, and functional stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
By leveraging modern engineering practices, cloud technologies, and AI/ML fundamentals, you will directly contribute to improving system intelligence, automation, data quality, and user experience across the DIS ecosystem. This position strengthens PDT’s ability to unlock insights, accelerate innovation, and enhance operational excellence.
Initially, this role will report to the PDT Delivery Lead – Technical Operations for strategic and daily direction until the Tech Lead & Program Manager roles for DIS are filled, after which reporting will transition accordingly.
How You Will Contribute:
Technical Solutioning & Delivery
Design, architect, and implement scalable microservices using .NET Core and modern cloud patterns.
Develop full-stack features using C#, .NET Core APIs, Angular/React, and secure integrations with third-party platforms.
Build event-driven, real-time components using Kafka, AWS SQS, SNS, or similar messaging frameworks.
Ensure solutions meet performance, reliability, observability, auditability, and compliance needs.
Optimize system performance through modern caching, async programming, and containerized workloads.
AI, Data & Insights Orientation
Interpret and work with dashboards, reports, and data quality frameworks to ensure trusted data flows across DIS.
Understand AI/ML fundamentals to support adoption of intelligent automation, anomaly detection, and predictive insights.
Identify opportunities for AI-assisted process enhancements within DIS and related Salesforce-driven workflows.
Collaborate with data engineering teams to validate data accuracy, lineage, and availability.
Participate in initiatives that bring data-informed decision-making into DIS application features.
Engineering Excellence
Write clean, maintainable, high-quality code aligned with secure development best practices.
Perform thorough unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure system reliability and uptime.
Conduct code reviews, collaborate in design discussions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Work with DevOps teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and monitoring processes.
Contribute to the implementation of audit, logging, backup, archival, and monitoring strategy for DIS systems.
Collaboration & Leadership
Partner with product managers, architects, business SMEs, and cross-functional technical teams.
Communicate progress, risks, incidents, and technical decisions effectively to stakeholders.
Support the team during major incidents with advanced debugging and root-cause analysis expertise.
Document architecture, designs, workflows, and technical decisions to ensure clarity and continuity.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
Master’s degree is a plus.
8–10 years of experience in software development with .NET Core, C#, and distributed systems.
Strong hands-on experience with microservices architecture, REST APIs, and event-driven patterns.
Front-end experience using HTML5, SCSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and frameworks like Angular / React.
Experience with DevSecOps and secure SDLC practices, including hands-on use of SonaType, JFROG, DAST, SonarCloud, and CodeQL for dependency scanning, vulnerability detection, and code quality enforcement.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
Experience with AWS or any major cloud platform.
Familiarity with ServiceNow, incident management, SLAs, and production support workflows.
Proficiency with Git and exposure to project management tools like Jira.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
