Who You Will Work With:  

The vacant Senior Software Developer role will report to the Practice Leader, Product Enablement.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining the company’s highly distributed, high-performance systems.

  • Building and supporting resilient microservices applications, encompassing the full development lifecycles.

  • Contributing to system and application architecture and produce detailed design and maintenance documentations.

  • Supporting the operations group in application problem analysis and resolution.

  • Participating in rotating on-call support when required.

You bring:

  • A University degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5+ years software development experience.

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.  Experience with REST API development and microservices architecture

  • Experience in Java application development using frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, and Hibernate.

  • Experience in database design and development using relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle)

  • Experience in cloud technologies like AWS or Azure.

  • Experience in containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS.

  • Experience in application security such as authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices

  • Experience in caching solutions like Redis and Hazelcast.

  • Experience with event-driven and messaging-based architectures.

  • Experience developing high-throughput, low latency systems is highly valued.

  • Experience with frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular.

  • Experience working in agile development environments and contributing to the full software delivery lifecycle.

The hiring range for this position is $120,000-$150,000, and you will also be eligible for our short-term incentive plan. The exact amount will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, but Interac’s commitment goes beyond compensation.
