The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Application Tester to join the team in Seattle, WA; Renton; WA; Tukwila, WA; Berkeley, MO; or Hazelwood, MO.
The Software Application Tester will lead testing activities for mission-critical software and systems while defining test strategy. You will plan and execute test programs, manage a team of testers and Quality Assurance (QA) engineers, and ensure product quality, reliability, and compliance with standards.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the overall test strategy, test plans, and test schedules
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of test engineers and QA specialists
Coordinate test activities across engineering, product, systems, and integration teams
Define test environments, tooling, automation strategy, and metrics for quality
Oversee test execution: functional, integration, system, performance, regression, and acceptance testing
Manage defective lifecycle and ensure timely resolution and risk mitigation
Communicate test status, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders and leadership
Ensure compliance with relevant processes, industry standards, and certification requirements
Support release planning and readiness reviews
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience in test management, quality assurance leadership, and/or equivalent roles
Experience in test planning, execution, and test process improvement
Experience with test automation frameworks, tools, and Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) integration
Experience leading cross-functional teams while managing multiple priorities
Experience with bug/issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA) and test management tools (e.g., TestRail)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in aerospace, defense, or other safety-critical industries
Experience with systems integration, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, or embedded systems testing
Experience with regulatory and certification processes relevant to the domain
Advanced degree (MS) or relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB Advanced/Expert, PMP)
