Job Description:

Parsons is hiring a Senior Security Specialist based in Washington, DC, to support high-profile government programs. In this role, you will ensure compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) standards, and applicable Intelligence Community directives, particularly in alignment with SEAD 7 for personnel security. This position focuses on safeguarding national security information and supporting Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) program requirements as part of DHS contractor operations.

The Senior Security Specialist will play a key role in managing personnel security processes, investigating potential risks, supporting SCI nomination packages, and delivering security training to ensure regulatory compliance across all operations. This role is ideal for candidates with extensive experience in personnel security and clearance processes supporting federal and DHS programs.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Administer and oversee personnel security clearance processes, ensuring compliance with SEAD 7 standards and facilitating SCI nominations.
  • Investigate and report security incidents, recommend mitigation strategies, and ensure alignment with DHS and other government security directives.
  • Conduct annual security training and insider threat awareness programs for all personnel to maintain compliance with federal requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for personnel security matters, interfacing with DHS representatives, government security officers, and program managers.
  • Maintain and update personnel clearance records using systems such as DISS, NISS, and e-QIP.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of clearance and access requests in compliance with program and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to DHS-specific security policies, including Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) handling and safeguarding requirements.
  • Support inspections and audits conducted by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and other relevant agencies.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Bacherlors Degree and 6 years of progressive experience in personnel security operations, including clearance processing and compliance with DCSA and federal standards or or 10+ years in lieu of degree.
  • Expert-level knowledge of SEAD 7 policies and procedures governing personnel security for access to classified information.
  • Proven experience with DISS, NISS, e-QIP, and related personnel security management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of insider threat risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance in accordance with federal regulations.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • Experience supporting DHS contractor programs and familiarity with DHS clearance processes and specific security requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to guide and provide support to team members to maintain compliance across projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver effective security training and awareness programs.
  • Familiarity with security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk management processes in classified settings.

Salary Range: $86,700.00 - $151,700.00
