Your day at NTT DATA
As a Senior Principal Security Technology Sales Specialist at NTT DATA, you will be the go-to expert in your field, leveraging your in-depth knowledge to pursue and secure qualified leads. As a Sales Specialist, you are also responsible for generating your own pipeline and opportunities within your assigned client base. Your primary focus will be identifying new opportunities within existing accounts, presenting compelling solutions and value propositions, and working closely with clients at various levels to meet their needs. Your role will blend direct client engagement with collaboration with internal teams to drive the sales process.

You will lead and own the sales pipeline, ensuring that security budget targets are achieved and exceeded. Maintaining subject matter expertise in the security technology domain, you will support sales closures and address any conceptual challenges during the sales process. You will stay current with relevant product and service knowledge to have meaningful conversations with clients and maintain a keen awareness of competitive landscapes and market strategies.

Building and nurturing strategic relationships will be key as you articulate the unique security solutions we offer, create detailed account plans, and uncover client business goals. Preparing and conducting client workshops, presentations, and stakeholder engagements will be integral parts of your day as you work to secure deals and achieve sales quotas. Your insight into clients' business and security needs will drive personalized solution recommendations and deepen client trust.

Working closely with our technology vendors, you will ensure a comprehensive understanding of their offerings and how they can complement our solutions. You will also actively contribute to the knowledge base within a practice area by sharing best practices and insights with both internal and client teams, fostering a collaborative environment. Your ability to spot new sales opportunities and work with the sales teams to close them will be critical to your success.

To thrive in this role, you need to have:
  • A deep understanding of security principles, concepts, and technologies, including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and best practices in cybersecurity.
  • Proven technical proficiency in security solutions and the ability to provide expert consultation and guidance to customers.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales and financial goals.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate sales forecasts and close plans.
  • Proficiency in a team-selling approach and navigating complex sales environments.
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain meaningful customer relationships up to the C-level.
  • Exceptional skills in delivering engaging sales presentations and crafting compelling elevator pitches.
  • A client-centric mindset with a strong ability to understand and solve customer problems.
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to urgent deadlines and new challenges.
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical or sales-related field.
  • Industry/Vendor sales certifications required.
