Australia Full time

Job Expectations

Build your career and Australia’s future.

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

A bit about your role

As a Senior Security Engineer, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the integrity and resilience of nbn’s Network Security platforms across our Enterprise and Active Network domains. You’ll be part of a collaborative DevSecOps environment, working alongside agile pods and enablement teams to deliver secure, scalable outcomes that support over 500 engineers. Your work will directly contribute to the protection of critical infrastructure, ensuring systems remain secure, available, and aligned with nbn’s strategic objectives.

You will lead the technical delivery and operational support of network security systems, mentor engineers, and help uplift secure engineering practices across the organisation. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, you’ll help drive innovation and automation, while fostering a culture of shared responsibility and technical excellence.

A bit about you

You are a seasoned security professional with deep expertise in Network Security, passionate about safeguarding critical infrastructure. You bring a strong understanding of Agile and DevSecOps methodologies, and you’re confident navigating complex technical environments with clarity and purpose.

Your hands-on experience with network protection technologies—such as proxy, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and secure network architecture—is complemented by your ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across diverse teams. You thrive in fast-paced settings, and your proactive mindset allows you to anticipate challenges and resolve blockers with empathy and precision.

With a passion for secure engineering and a commitment to continuous learning, you’ll help shape nbn’s security posture and contribute to a safer, more resilient digital future for all Australians.
