The Senior Security Architect for AI works with EIP Department leaders and Humana enterprise stakeholders to identify, define, and develop security architecture requirements and secure designs for AI technology solutions across Humana’s business, information technology, and security domains. The Security Architect leads the development of technical architecture & designs, develop security requirements, perform threat modeling and ensures alignment of security & risk imperatives with business priorities.

The Security Architect is responsible for the high-level design and patterns of security program infrastructures to enable the protection of Humana tools, data, systems, and networks. Working with EIP Leaders, the security architect drives alignment between the EIP security strategy, security architecture and infrastructure, and Humana’s overall business and technology strategic priorities. In this capacity, the role is responsible for planning, designing, and proposing architectural patterns or security enhancements for Humana’s information security and technology infrastructures. The role works with EIP and Humana leaders to review and reconcile Humana business priorities with EIP security requirements. The role engages with relevant EIP stakeholders to identify current and emerging security threats and works to design security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge. Additionally, the role actively works to identify gaps within existing EIP reference architecture and designs updates to impacted security architecture elements to mitigate emerging threats.  

Performs and oversees efforts to conduct threat modeling, risk analyses and security assessments of relevant enterprise / EIP infrastructure. Develops and manages security requirements for GenAI, model, MCP, Agentic AI solutions and software integration with Humana systems. Ensures EIP and Humana stakeholder security requirements are necessary to protect Humana’s business functions and are adequately addressed in all aspects of enterprise architecture (i.e., reference models, segment and solution architectures). 

The Security Architect will focus on AI security threats, designs, and secure implementation of AI processes and solutions (applications and software). This role works with relevant EIP stakeholders to ensure the associated AI security standards, templates, and security safeguards & controls for Humana’s AI application architecture are in place. The role identifies opportunities to facilitate process and tooling automation, and where possible, within existing security architecture patterns. The individual in this role may participate in the research, evaluation, and implementation of AI testing tools, frameworks, and utilities for Humana’s enterprise and EIP Departments.

Required Qualifications 

  • 2+ Experience in technical Cybersecurity architecture 
  • 1+ Experience in Artificial Intelligence Security
  • Experience integrating Cybersecurity technologies with existing technologies 
  • Experience implementing Cybersecurity technologies with enterprise-wide impact 
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master's Degree in a Technical Field 
  • CISSP or CEH certification 
  • Experience in AI Security 
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP)
  • AISPM, LLM Firewall, DSPM
  • AI Security Frameworks and Standards (e.g. NIST AI RMF, OWASP Top 10 for LLM)

Remote/WAH requirements:

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.  
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$117,600 - $161,700 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
