About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Secretariat Consultant to join our Company Secretarial team within our Mergers & Acquisitions practice. This role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis.

Our Company Secretarial team supports clients with Australian and foreign company incorporations, a wide range of ASIC lodgements, and ongoing governance support relating to the legal and financial obligations of Australian entities.

Tasks include:

  • Oversee the incorporation and deregistration of Australian and foreign companies with ASIC
  • Manage the registration, renewal, and cancellation of business names
  • Attend to company statements, solvency resolutions, and lodgement of financial statement for a large portfolio of clients
  • Provide advice and prepare relevant documents relating to board/officer changes, share capital changes and member transfers
  • Prepare and maintain statutory registers
  • Attend to ASIC lodgements through the ASIC portal or CAS360
  • Provide governance, compliance and procedural guidance to internal stakeholders and clients

About you

We are looking for someone who brings both technical capability and strong stakeholder management skills, with a commitment to maintaining the highest governance standards.

You will have:

  • 5 - 6 years’ experience in a dedicated company secretarial or corporate compliance role
  • Professional services background is essential - ideally from a large law firm, accounting firm or a comparable professional services environment
  • Demonstrated experience registering Australian and foreign companies with ASIC, including drafting and lodging all required documentation
  • Strong experience drafting resolutions and preparing ASIC lodgements using CAS360 and ASIC online platforms
  • Proven ability to update and maintain statutory registers
  • Solid working knowledge of the Corporations Act 2001 and ASIC processes
  • Excellent time management, organisation and multitasking abilities
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a strong desire to learn and develop
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to achieving positive team and client outcomes
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all work
