The Oncology Outcomes Research (O2R) team is composed of high-functioning individuals with exceptional strategic, technical, and communication skills. As part of the Evidence Generation and External Alliances Organization within the Global Medical function, the team develops strategies for impactful real-world, economic, and patient-reported research for the AZ oncology portfolio. Our mission is to identify, quantify, and present the medical value proposition of molecules in the oncology portfolio. O2R is a thought partner for Franchise Leads and a vital member of the Global and US Core Medical Team, focusing on evidence generation to assist payer and healthcare provider decision-makers.
Accountabilities
The Senior Scientist, Oncology Outcomes Research is an individual contributor role and a crucial member of an Asset team responsible for delivering strategic plans and implementing projects. Reporting to the Asset Lead, you will lead the execution of health outcomes and real-world strategies on a global and US market level. Collaborating with key internal partners, you will support the execution and communication of studies. This position requires scientific knowledge of HEOR, business insight, and interpersonal skills.
Essential Skills/Experience
Bachelors degree and 3+ years experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry; graduate degree strongly preferred (PhD, MS, MPH) in health economics, epidemiology, outcomes research and/or related fields.
Understanding and knowledge and application of epidemiological/health outcomes methodology within pharmaceutical industry at an international level.
In-depth expertise with research methods for real world research, HEOR projects including pharmacoepidemiologic models.
Demonstrates analytical, judgment and problem-solving skills.

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $ 113,947.20 to $ 170,920.80. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
