About The Role

As a Senior Sales Systems Engineer, you will be a critical, hands-on technical partner to our stakeholder teams, leading the design and implementation of complex solutions on the Salesforce platform, with a deep focus on Salesforce CPQ and custom Apex development. You will own the full software development life cycle, from understanding complex business needs and translating them into secure, scalable technical architectures, to leading execution, code review, deployment, and adoption. This is a highly visible, critical role for Mixpanel, with a direct and significant impact on our ability to optimize the sales process, accelerate revenue goals, and build a world-class Quote-to-Cash system.

  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of secure, scalable, and high-performance technical solutions on the Salesforce platform, utilizing a strong blend of declarative tools (Flows, Validation Rules) and custom code (Apex, Lightning Web Components).
  • Serve as the primary technical expert for Salesforce CPQ, owning the configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of the entire Quote-to-Cash (QTC) process.
  • Design and implement advanced CPQ features including complex Product Bundles and Option Constraints, multi-dimensional Pricing Rules and Discounting Models (e.g., Block Pricing, Subscription Pricing, Volume-based tiers), and dynamic Advanced Approval workflows.
  • Develop and maintain APEX to implement custom business logic that extends CPQ functionality, such as custom calculations, quote finalization logic, and complex data synchronization between CPQ and other systems.
  • Own the technical implementation and integrity of the Product Catalog, Price Book structure, and Contract/Subscription management within Salesforce CPQ, ensuring seamless renewals and amendments.
  • Provide senior-level technical guidance on integration strategies, ensuring robust data exchange between Salesforce (CPQ) and downstream Finance systems (e.g., ERP, Billing) to maintain data consistency across the QTC lifecycle.
  • Drive data integrity and quality initiatives specifically related to CPQ objects (Quote Lines, Subscriptions, Assets), ensuring accurate revenue recognition and reporting.
  • Implement best practices for Salesforce development lifecycle (SDLC), including version control (Git), code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) specifically for CPQ configuration and custom code deployments.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in supporting, configuring, and developing enterprise-level solutions on the Salesforce platform.
  • 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience designing and implementing complex, end-to-end solutions using Salesforce CPQ for a B2B SaaS organization.
  • 3+ years of experience in custom development using Apex, Visualforce, and/or Lightning Web Components (LWC), including writing efficient SOQL/SOSL, robust unit tests, and managing governor limits in high-volume environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating complex legal and finance requirements (e.g., co-termination, prorations, renewals, amendments) into scalable CPQ configuration.
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator AND Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I OR Salesforce Certified CPQ Specialist.

Bonus points if you have

  • Experience with CPQ scripting or custom actions that utilize Advanced Calculator Functions to override standard CPQ behavior.
  • Familiarity with related QTC tools such as Salesforce Billing or other integration layers for ERP/Invoicing systems.
