About the job

Twilio is looking for an experienced sales professional to lead our New Business Sales team. This person will lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of account executives, who are passionate about acquiring new enterprise and commercial logos across Australia and New Zealand.

The successful candidate will lead the New Business sales team, drive our sales strategy to position our Twilio Customer Data platform and displace competitors in the messaging, voice, email and customer data platform space. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for leading the team of Account Executives to beat our competitors and win business. As a leader, you will embody along with your team a group of affable, engaging sales professionals that customers have time for over the phone, via messaging, Zoom calls and most importantly face to face. This role is highly cross functional, and your success will depend on building deep partnerships across product management, finance, support, and operations.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Have your team average 10 client meetings per week
  • Have your team meet four clients F2F per month and four client meals per quarter
  • Have you and your AE’s talk with potential strategic customers, where you spend time learning about their needs, and then through consultation, develop a strategic plan to help their service thrive through the use of Twilio’s communication and segment platform.
  • Success in leading and building high-performing enterprise sales teams. Understand how to manage your team to deliver more than they may think is possible.
  • Comfortable allowing your team to be Owners of their own business. Sometimes this means giving them autonomy and trusting their decisions, but stepping in and coaching when needed.
  • Acquire new customer accounts, including high growth technology, logistics, and fintech companies.
  • Develop, drive, and execute account acquisition strategy leveraging the strength and differentiation of the Twilio platform to unseat our competition.
  • Partner with and coordinate cross-functional internal teams (Sales Development, Legal, Engineering, Security, Marketing, Product) to efficiently navigate complex sales cycles
  • Run a disciplined forecast, including weekly updates on steps to close, providing a commit, most likely and best case at the start of each quarter and achieving quota.
