The Senior Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving business growth by promoting GEA’s separation technology solutions within Renewable Resources applications, with a strong focus on the palm oil and starch industries. This role combines technical expertise with consultative selling to deliver value-driven solutions to customers.

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Actively promote GEA’s full portfolio of separation technology solutions within Renewable Resources applications, primarily targeting the palm oil and starch markets.
  • Develop, manage, and strengthen long-term relationships with new and existing customers across all organizational levels to ensure sustainable business growth.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to customers and prospects, clearly articulating GEA’s products, technologies, and value propositions.
  • Provide tailored, value-added industrial solutions by understanding customer needs, processes, and challenges.
  • Prepare sales proposals, quotations, and contracts, and lead commercial negotiations in close collaboration with the Sales and Legal teams.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators set by management.
  • Proactively gather market intelligence, customer insights, and competitive information to continuously build and strengthen the project pipeline.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of products and services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, leads, and opportunities in the CRM system.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, seminars, and other marketing or industry events within the assigned territory.

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in B2B sales of industrial equipment or machinery, preferably within the Food & Beverage sector, with strong exposure to the palm oil and starch industries.
  • Strong “hunter” mindset with proven ability to prospect, develop, and close new business opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to build credibility and trust at all customer levels.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Self-motivated, independent, reliable, and proactive, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic sales environment.
  • Willingness and ability to continuously learn, adapt, and stay current with industry trends and technologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the relevant industry, applications, and competitive landscape.
  • Established and diverse network within the relevant industries is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and CRM systems.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70%).
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English. Extensive fluency in Hokkien is highly considerable.
