About the opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced risk professional to influence and embed best‑practice risk, resilience and assurance across VicRoads. As the Senior Risk and Resilience Advisor, you will work in a second line of defence capacity, partnering closely with leaders and teams to strengthen risk management, business continuity and resilience capability.
You will provide high‑quality advice, insight and independent challenge, support enterprise‑wide frameworks and reporting and lead assurance and improvement initiatives. The role also offers leadership responsibility, acting as Deputy to the Manager, Risk and Resilience, and supporting capability uplift and a strong, proactive risk culture across the organisation.
About you
You are a confident and collaborative risk professional with a strong understanding of enterprise risk management, resilience and assurance. You bring a pragmatic, business‑partnering mindset and are comfortable operating in a second line of defence role, providing advice, challenge and insight that supports better decision‑making.
You enjoy translating frameworks into practical outcomes, building capability across the business and working with stakeholders at all levels. With strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement focus, you will thrive in dynamic environments and actively contribute to a positive risk and resilience culture.
You will bring:
Demonstrated experience in risk management and/or business continuity frameworks
Strong assurance experience, including control design and effectiveness reviews
Proven stakeholder engagement, influencing and clear report‑writing skills
Experience using GRC systems and risk data to drive insights and reporting
Capability to design and deliver training and awareness initiatives
Strong planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities autonomously
A collaborative leadership approach, with the ability to mentor and uplift capability
