Job Summary:
Revenue assurance is a critical function in any telecommunication service provider (TSP) that helps ensure accurate billing to customers for services consumed. The role of a revenue assurance specialist is to identify risks related to revenue leakage and take appropriate actions to minimize or eliminate those risks. A typical day in this role involves reviewing customer accounts, analyzing usage patterns, identifying discrepancies in billing, and collaborating with various teams within the organization to resolve issues and prevent future occurrences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily monitoring of postpaid subscriber’s usage data and detect potential fraud case such as SIM box, excessive use etc.
- Review usage records for accuracy and completeness, including usage data from all sources, e.g., voice, messaging, data, content, international roaming, third-party billing, etc.
- Identify discrepancies in usage records and investigate their causes, taking corrective action when necessary.
- Ensure that all usage records are correctly attributed to the relevant customer account.
- Perform periodic audits on customer accounts to detect irregularities or errors in billing.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, sales, finance, IT, operations, and product development, to address revenue assurance issues and improve overall business processes.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management regarding strategies to reduce revenue leakage and improve operational efficiency.
- Stay updated with changes in industry regulations and standards related to revenue assurance practices.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, policies, and processes used in revenue assurance activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in revenue assurance or fraud management roles in a TSP or similar organization.
- Strong understanding of telecommunication business processes and systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing revenue assurance practices.
- Proficiency in using analytical tools and software applications for data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented.
