Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Execute technical procedures to support biomarker analyses.
Work with Lab management to develop new, and improve existing, research protocols to support project/program objectives.
Ensure laboratory activities and research protocols comply with all laboratory Quality Management Systems and laboratory safety objectives and procedures.
Ensure lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
Assist in the training of laboratory staff and/or Project Team personnel on laboratory procedures to ensure compliance with all laboratory standards.
Participate in rotating off-hours “on-call” response to emergency alarms or occasional support.
Additional administrative tasks include ordering research supplies, managing research material inventory, and ensuring compliance with WashU regulations.
Working Conditions:
Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
Education:
Master’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with aseptic technique, cell culture, basic molecular biology applications, ELISA, Flow Cytometry and/or other cell sorting applications.
Experience using clinical centrifuges, automated cell counters, biosafety cabinets/fume hoods, tissue culture incubators and other general laboratory equipment.
Education:
