Here’s a Glimpse of the Job

The Senior Research Scientist is responsible for conducting advanced research in quantum optics, atomic physics, and general relativity in collaboration with Texas A&M University faculty, PhD candidates, and select undergraduate students. All research activities will follow a plan developed jointly by the employee and the Director of the IQSE.

Opportunities to Contribute

  • Conduct theoretical research in quantum optics, atomic physics, and general relativity, including analytical calculations, data analysis, and preparation of presentations and publications.

  • Direct research activities while advising and mentoring junior faculty, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers.

  • Support quantum workforce development through involvement in IQSE quantum camps and quantum electronics conferences.

  • Engage in outreach by delivering seminars, public talks, and colloquia.

Qualifications

  • Earned PhD in physics or a related field.

  • 8 years of related experience.

A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

  • Strong records of research, scholarly, or creative accomplishments leading to recognition that may include, but not be limited to: (a) membership in the congressionally approved national academies; (b) official recognition for major accomplishments by international and national professional or disciplinary organizations; or (c) the receipt of major awards such as Nobel prize, Wolf prize, Pulitzer prize, etc., that indicate preeminence and extraordinary achievements.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
