About This Opportunity

Join the School of Education and contribute to meaningful research supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education.

Working under the supervision of Professor Marnee Shay, you will support the Indigenous Futures Centre’s Education and Economies theme, providing technical research, coordination, and administrative support to advance policy and practice in Indigenous education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate research activities, track progress, and support project delivery.

  • Prepare and maintain research documentation, including ethics and reporting.

  • Assist in data collection, analysis, and the preparation of reports and presentations.

  • Provide administrative, financial, and communication support for project operations.

  • Engage and support Indigenous local researchers and community partners.

  • Contribute to other research or administrative tasks as required.

About You

  • Degree in a relevant discipline with research or project coordination experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of research methods and data management, with strong organisational skills.

  • Experience working with, or commitment to working with, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.

  • Competency in Microsoft Office and NVivo, with the ability to learn UQ systems.

  • An interest in mentoring or supporting students and junior researchers is desirable.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment.
