  • Collaborate with technical practice teams to provide pragmatic solutions to clients

As a Senior Regulatory Environmental & Sustainability Advisor, you will join one of our many Canadian office locations as part of our growing Infrastructure Regulatory and Advisory Services line within the Regulatory Planning and Permitting team, with responsibilities as follows:

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership for projects and proposals related to environmental and sustainability management, primarily for the infrastructure sector across the entire infrastructure lifecycle, from planning through to operations and decommissioning
    • Sample services include: climate hazard and climate change assessments and plans, decarbonisation planning & GHG emission inventories, ESG materiality assessments, plans and reporting (aligned to ISSB, CSSB, CSRD, ACA, GRI, UN SDGs, Green Marine standards), lifecycle assessments and quantification, Sustainability Performance Monitoring (carbon and energy intensity, air quality, water quality, water use, waste generation, etc.), Environmental Liability and Contaminated Site Management and Regulatory and Compliance Management.
  • Deliver expert advice, senior-level review and act as a Technical Advisor to projects in areas within your technical expertise and scope across all sectors Montrose supports.
  • Contribute to business development activities including bolstering client accounts with previous experience and client contacts, contributing to client account management, as well as leading proposals including scoping and budgeting
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and quality in project execution
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to intermediate and junior team members
  • Participate in maintaining Montrose’s strong safety culture

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, environmental science, geography, resource management, or related environmental or sustainability discipline
  • Registered as an environmental professional in a Canadian jurisdiction (P.Eng., P.Geo., P. Bio, RP. Bio, P.Ag preferred)
  • Minimum of 12 years of environmental management and/or consulting experience involving environmental regulatory planning and permitting, technical execution of environmental projects, sustainability strategy or reporting work, and involvement infrastructure development projects and operations
  • Skills with geographic information systems and data analysis
  • Experience working with federal, provincial and municipal infrastructure development and operations approvals and programs
  • Experience with provincial and federal regulations and permitting requirements
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams as a TA or technical reviewer
  • Proven success in project proposal preparation
  • Strong business development skills and business acumen
  • Existing client relationships in one or more market sectors
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills in a collaborative environment, particularly in delivering presentations and informal communication with prospective clients and project stakeholders

This is a permanent position with a salary range of $135,000-$155,000, starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location.
