Senior Regional Sales Manager - SOREL

ABOUT THE POSITION  

The SOREL Sales team partners with external partners (from wholesale key accounts to independent boutiques) and internal teams including Merchandising, Marketing, and Demand planning to understand the needs of consumers and the realities of the marketplace, as well as how our product best fits into that equation. The Sales team’s business savviness and sales strategy expertise lends itself to strong partnerships and solid results.  

 

As a member of the North American Sales team, The Senior Manager-Regional Sales provides leadership for a regionally based field sales team. As part of the sales leadership team, they participate in strategic planning and execution of seasonal sales plans that maximize SOREL’s marketplace opportunities. 

 

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE  

  • Oversees and directs a field sales team within the North American( US and Canada) marketplace. Leads, develops, and mentors sales team. 

  • Aligns regional opportunities with the strategic direction of the brand and business. Develops strategies that maximize brand position and sales growth within the assigned geographic region. 

  • Leads a regional sales team, develops and executes seasonal sales goals and sales plans that drive growth.  

  • Manages performance and develops talent within the sales team by setting clear goals and performance expectations, tracking progress against goals, ensuring feedback that reinforces individual team member’s developmental progress, success, and the pursuit of relentless improvement. 

  • Collaborates with marketing and retail in-store partners to drive sell-through programs with independent retail partners.  

  • Works directly and travels with regional sales representatives to advise on territory and account management. 

  • Responsible for regional trade shows and coordinating any regional participation at regional and national events. 

  • Develops and maintains relationships with buying groups.  

  • Acts as liaison between company and field sales team ensuring needs are met with regard to sales efforts and product showings.  

  • Manages the forecasting of account sales representatives. 

  • Works closely with an internal SOREL team of merchants, customer service and planning that is responsible for product planning and production, sales and inventory projections, SMU design, operational and logistics support, and information to all parties to help properly manage key account business. 

  • Understand the competition and able to communicate the issues that arise from our competitors to management/merchandising 

 

YOU ARE  

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the sales field 

  • Strong in written and verbal communication 

  • Able to handle and work with proprietary, private, and confidential information. 

  • An out of the box thinker and willing to challenge the status quo – creative ideas and solutions preferred 

 

YOU HAVE  

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • 10+ years’ experience in sales of footwear and/or apparel industry experience. 

  • 8+ years managing both individual contributors and managers. 

  • Experience managing a sales team, >10 sales reps. 

  • Thorough knowledge of marketing, sales theory, strategy, prospecting, account business planning, forecasting, use of sales aids, and closing techniques 

  • Knowledge of product lines/services and outdoor industry 

  • Experience with Mall Specialty stores and inventory planning and analysis 

  • Proven experience in defining retailer value add from markets, footwear industry, product trends and key data 

  • Experience leading business reviews and creating marketing plans 

  • Advanced interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build relationships
