Meaningful Work From Day One
This position will take the commercial leadership role in creating and implementing a strategic vision for Brown-Forman’s Travel Retail business across the APAC Region and will work to ensure the development of B-F brands across travel retail sales channels, in alignment with our brand building philosophy and global brand strategies. Working under the management of the Managing Director - Global Travel Retail, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all travel retail activities in the covered territory which includes North Asia (China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan), SEA (i.e. Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines), and ANZPI (Australia, NZ, Pacific Islands). The role will collaborate with global travel retail and local management teams to evaluate market conditions, implement sales and promotional plans and recommend changes. From its base Singapore, the incumbent will still directly manage SEA customers.
What You Can Expect
- Manage Travel Retail customers (across airport, airlines, in-flight, cruise and port retail, diplomatic, border) to successfully implement & execute brand plans
- Successfully lead, manage and motivate the team to create, execute and deliver agreed global P&L objectives
- Actively lead annual and long-range planning for APAC
- The role requires collaboration with its counterparts, who oversee the Americas and EMEAI and their reports, to align on GTR strategies and objectives and to ensure seamless execution across geographies, multiple channels, and various key accounts
- Collaborate and align with domestic B-F personnel to maximize cooperation between B-F GTR & local economy
- Manage and coordinate annual pricing and listing negotiations, in partnership with GTR stakeholders including finance, to ensure optimal profitability
- Develop strong and dynamic working relationships with key decision makers and account management to secure optimal retail brand exposure and dominate at the point of purchase
- Work with key stakeholders, including GTR Customer Marketing Manager, to identify and seize brand building opportunities through merchandising and executing best-in-class promotions
- Possess entrepreneurial spirit and initiative with the ability to succeed in many skill areas including negotiating, influencing, presentation skills and problem solving
- Develop a strong network with APAC accounts and Airport Authorities senior leadership, act as a key point of contact
- Be the regional champion for the Cruise business in APAC and liaise with the Global Cruise channel lead to ensure strategy implementation and pricing consistency across the channel in the region
- Build and implement appropriate Key Account metrics
- Benchmark / monitor BF performance versus competitors
- Remain vigilant toward iTNT and work with key stakeholders to identify and address issues in a timely manner
- Work within the policies stated in B-F’s Code of Conduct and use professional judgment in representing B-F at all times
- Utilize B-F brand and T&E budgets appropriately and within B-F guidelines
- Be a Champion of people, leading and developing the APAC GTR team
What You Bring to the Table
- A minimum of 5 years sales & or marketing experience preferably in spirits, but related sectors such as tobacco or confectionery can be considered; or 7+ years of relevant experience
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Strength in people management and relationship building
- Good negotiation skills
- Must possess passion for portfolio of brands and have a brand building mentality
- A positive, team player, supportive to all functions
- Able to operate in a matrix management structure, with minimum supervision and independently prioritize tasks
- Must be willing to travel extensively (approximately 40% of the time)
