The Senior Regional Counsel – EMEA will be part of Renishaw’s Legal and Secretarial department and will support in a wide-range of legal and compliance topics the EMEA sales region reporting to the Head of Legal – EMEA in Germany. The candidate will be based in our sales office in Germany (Pliezhausen) and will travel occasionally to other EMEA sales subsidiaries .
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements like terms and conditions, sales, lease and distribution contracts for the EMEA region currently consisting of DACH, UK, Sweden, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, France, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Turkey, Israel and UAE including their branch offices.
Supporting with the design and implementation of compliance policies and processes in collaboration with colleagues in the UK and other regions.
Working closely with the business to close sales transactions in a legally compliant manner, while acting within the frame of internal policies and processes.
Providing pragmatic and comprehensive legal and compliance advice in a fast-paced sales focused environment.
Working cross-functional with other business areas like marketing, finance and HR in all legal and compliance related projects.
Building trusted relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the business to help influence and implement business strategy.
Preparing, managing and conducting legal and compliance training programs.
Supporting the Head of Legal – EMEA as required and other duties and projects as assigned.
Fully qualified lawyer licensed in Germany, France, Italy or Spain.
At least 5+ years of relevant experience as an in-house counsel.
Fluency in English, German (verbal and written) and French or Italian.
Ability of simplifying complex processes.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with international leaders across the organization.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and team-working skills.
Adaptability to work in a Group-structure as a subsidiary counsel.
Highly motivated with a continuous improvement mind-set.
Law or LL.M. degree in an EMEA country outside of the required legal qualification.
Experience in working for an international engineering company.
Experience with implementing compliance programs in different jurisdictions.
Further language skills in relevant countries are an advantage
