What is the Role

We’re looking for a curious, relationship-driven Senior Technical Recruiter to join our EMEA Talent Acquisition team and partner with the hard-working team building Elastic’s engineering organization. You’ll collaborate closely with leaders across Elasticsearch, Data & Compute, and Distributed Systems—helping us find, engage, and hire the engineers who build the backbone of our products.

What You Will Be Doing

End-to-End Recruiting Leadership

  • Own full-cycle recruitment for senior technical roles across the Platform organization, including distributed systems developers, AI engineers, product managers and engineering leaders.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to hiring managers, driving intake discussions, defining hiring strategies, benefiting from market insights, and ensuring an outstanding experience for engineers interviewing at Elastic.

Sourcing & Pipeline Development

  • Proactively source, engage, and nurture top global talent using innovatory sourcing strategies, data insights, and a deep understanding of distributed systems and open-source engineering communities.
  • Build and maintain diverse pipelines of great candidates through targeted outreach, community engagement, and consistent relationship management.

Process Management

  • Guide and influence your hiring partners, providing clear recommendations and data-driven insights.
  • Lead interview processes in a highly distributed environment, ensuring clarity, consistency, and efficiency across time zones and teams.
  • Partner closely with Recruiting Operations, Finance, and HR teams to ensure alignment and a smooth hiring workflow.

What You Bring

Technical Recruiting Expertise

  • Extensive experience recruiting for senior engineering roles within high-growth, global technology companies, ideally with exposure to distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, site reliability, data engineering, or search technologies.
  • Strong ability to understand intricate technical environments (e.g., Elasticsearch, AI, distributed systems architecture) and translate them into compelling career conversations.

Relationship Building & Stakeholder Management

  • Consistent track record partnering with and influencing senior engineering leaders in a consultative, thoughtful, and data-driven manner.
  • Outstanding communication skills and comfort operating across geographies and time zones in a fully distributed team.

Sourcing Craft & Pipeline Ownership

  • Demonstrated success crafting and implementing creative sourcing strategies that surface both active and passive talent across EMEA.
  • Ability to handle your pipeline independently, including detailed tracking, reporting, and candidate experience management.

Purposeful Collaboration

  • Deep alignment with Elastic’s values: you're humble, action-biased, appreciate teamwork, transparency and openness.
  • Comfort working asynchronously and independently while staying connected to a distributed team.

Additional Strengths (Nice to Have)

  • Experience recruiting within open-source communities or engineering organisations with a distributed-first model.
  • Familiarity with tools like Greenhouse and distributed communication practices (Slack, GitHub-style collaboration).
