Senior Receiving Technician

OCONUS-Iraq-Baghdad Full time

The Senior Receiving Technician will be based at one of three Amentum sites in Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for various tasks related to the receipt and management of incoming shipments. This position will report to the Senior Material Control Specialist. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.  Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
  • Make certain the receiving areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Collaborate with the Logistics/Expediting teams to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
  • Perform escort of trucks with shipment of orders being delivered by Suppliers.
  • Ensure detailed pictures are taken of inbound shipments to clearly document the condition of each pallet.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as needed.
  • Promptly breakdown, organize, and inspect offloaded shipments to ensure they match the orders and are in good condition.
  • Ensure all safety data sheets are collected, retained, and affixed as necessary.
  • Segregate and label discrepant orders, generate the appropriate documents outlining the discrepancy, submit the report to the applicable section(s), conduct follow-up when necessary, and perform closure upon receipt of the resolution.
  • Properly track and report all discrepant shipments received at the warehouse.
  • Coordinate with the requestor to complete the verification process.
  • Correctly perform the data entry into the system of record capturing the exact item and quantity received.
  • Properly pack, label and relocate accepted orders to the designated area within the warehouse.
  • Provide training to members of the receiving team.
  • Maintain effective, timely and respectful communication and interaction with other employees and managers and support other organizations.
  • Implement section priorities with logistics, procurement, and warehouse team.
  • Perform additional duties and projects assigned.

REQUIRED:

  • Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:
  • Three (3) to six (6) years’ progressive experience working in a high-volume supply management environment.
  • Experience with supply chain management (SCM) systems particularly in relation to accurate inventory management.
  • Experience and knowledge of materials-accountability, loss prevention and logistical scheduling.
  • Experience working independently with various functions and disciplines of supply chain and operations.
  • Experience with analysis and research using the MS Office Suite of programs.
  • Handling of U.S. Government property procedures.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high standards of customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision with a strong focus on procedural compliance and customer service.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Strong understanding how inventory affects company contractual obligations.
  • Proficient in using AMRO or similar platform and cataloging software.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment capable of handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Highly skilled using a computer, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
  • Ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
  • Expert communication skills (Verbal & Written) to facilitate and disseminate information.
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED. Successful completion of a two or four-year curriculum from an accredited college or university leading to an associate or bachelor’s degree in supply-chain or logistics management is preferred.
  • Passport, Licenses and Certifications: As part of pre-contingency requirements, by the time the visa process starts, candidates must possess a valid passport with a minimum of 18 months remaining until the expiration date with 8 blank pages. Valid drivers’ license from Home of Record.
  • Security Vetting: Already possess a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) or be able to obtain a favorable MRPT certification prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification level for the duration of the contract.
  • Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
  • Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by Amentum and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.

DESIRED:

  • Previous out of home country experience and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions are a plus.
  • Experience working with Amentum /PAE.

WORKING AND LIVING CONDITIONS:

This position may be located in a war zone, in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120- 130 degrees Fahrenheit/50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment, as well as willing and able to deploy to Iraq for extended periods. Work schedules are a minimum of 6 days per week and 10 hours per day, while some jobs have higher daily and weekly minimums. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time and being capable of running and ‘duck & cover’ during emergencies without putting oneself or others at risk.
