As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in safeguarding the integrity, reliability, and performance of advanced aerospace and defense technologies. In this highly visible position, you will serve as a technical authority supporting electronic manufacturing operations, ensuring that products meet the rigorous standards required to support customers and critical missions around the world. Your expertise will help shape quality strategies, strengthen process controls, and drive continuous improvement across complex manufacturing and testing environments.

Working as a trusted partner across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program teams, you will influence how quality systems are designed, implemented, and improved throughout the product lifecycle. From leading root cause investigations and managing escape prevention to deploying advanced inspection methods and strengthening process control strategies, your work will directly impact site quality health and operational excellence. This is an opportunity for a proactive, solutions-oriented quality professional to apply their expertise in electronics manufacturing, statistical analysis, and quality systems to help Collins Aerospace deliver products that perform flawlessly when it matters most.

This is an Onsite position in Coralville, Iowa.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems that ensure products and processes meet internal, customer, and regulatory requirements
  • Define and implement inspection and testing strategies, methods, and technologies that ensure product reliability, performance, and conformance to design specifications
  • Investigate nonconformances and product escapes, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions to strengthen product and process quality
  • Apply PPAP core elements (PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, Control Plans) and lead quality reviews supporting work transfers, process changes, and production approvals
  • Review and maintain process control documentation to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, quality standards, and operational objectives
  • Drive proactive quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts supporting both Program and Product Quality Engineering activities
  • Provide Quality Engineering support for electronic circuit board assembly, testing, and delivery, ensuring compliance with QMS requirements in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

  • Experience working in regulated or quality-controlled environments where established standards and procedures guide product or process quality

  • Experience supporting or operating within a Quality Management System (QMS), including participation in quality processes, documentation, or compliance activities.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience applying structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies such as Fishbone/Ishikawa diagrams, 5 Whys, or similar problem-solving tools
  • Experience applying statistical quality methods to evaluate process performance and drive continuous improvement (e.g., SPC, process capability analysis)
  • ASQ certification, Six Sigma Black Belt, or similar quality/process improvement certification
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality management system requirements
  • Understanding of electronics workmanship standards, such as Collins workmanship standards or industry standards like J-STD-001/IPC-A-610
  • Experience working with SAP or similar enterprise systems supporting manufacturing or quality operations
  • Experience supporting electronics or circuit board manufacturing environments

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
