We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to support the manufacture and delivery of some of the most advanced and highly utilized aircraft technology in aviation.

This role will be located onsite in Cheshire, CT.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage internal quality issues to a closure in a timely and professional manner
  • Responsible for resolving critical issues/situations ensuring they are handled correctly and within current policy/procedure guidelines
  • Lead or participate in preventative and corrective actions for quality issues related to internal non-conformances, product returns, supplier issues and customer complaints affecting the product line, and corrective action requests with clear and concise reporting
  • Provide expertise and lead in process improvement tools and continuous improvement methods
  • Provide support relative to the collection and analysis of quality data on top issues including scrap, rework, and repair (SSR)
  • Support/Participate in Integrated Product Team (IPT) Reviews of key metrics and strategic quality initiatives.
  • Develop/implement and auditing of inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures / work instructions
  • Identifies and manages risk in product development, engineering changes and work transfers primarily utilizing and driving UPPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.).
  • Facilitate the completion of internal and customer required First Article Inspection (FAI) Reviews
  • Participation and preparation for customer, third party regulatory and internal audits
  • Facilitate the investigation and elimination of causes of quality problems and follow-up on corrective actions
  • Provide support in the way of development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions, and process audits with the objective of improving the process performance and capability
  • Participate in and lead Manufacturing Process Reviews
  • Execute the initiatives of the organization such as Zero Defect Plan (ZDP)

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience supporting AS9100 (or similar) Quality Management System requirements (e.g. Non-Conformity Metrics Management, Risk Analysis, Audit support, etc.)

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in one or all of the following is highly desired: Six Sigma, Process Certification, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Product Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Experienced in 8D, quality tools, 5 Whys of Root Cause Analysis, and SPC analysis
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional team and provide forecasting to reach established goals
  • Ability to assimilate, analyze, and present data to leaders, customers, and peers
  • Experiencing interfacing with internal and external customers as well as all levels of personnel
  • AS9100 preferred

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
