Role Description

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our Investment Proposition applications through comprehensive testing and automation. You will plan and execute the full spectrum of test activities, from test analysis and case creation to execution and defect analysis, as well as orchestrating complete test cycles. A key part of this role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust test automation frameworks and tools, covering unit, integration, and UI tests. You will work collaboratively within agile Feature Teams, engaging closely with Dev/QA engineers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to deliver high-quality features. We are looking for an individual with strong analytical skills, a passion for continuous learning, and the ability to mentor junior team members in a fast-paced, evolving web environment.

Your key responsibilities

• Test Planning & Execution: Plan and execute the full suite of test activities for our Investment Proposition applications, including test analysis, test case creation, manual test execution, defect analysis, and coordinating comprehensive test cycles.

• Test Automation Strategy & Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain a robust test automation strategy, including creating, maintaining, and executing automated tests for unit, integration, and UI levels.

• Test Tool & Framework Development: Develop and extend in-house Test Automation tools and test frameworks to enhance efficiency and coverage.

• Agile Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Dev/QA engineers within Feature Teams (Scrum teams), Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure seamless integration of QA activities throughout the development lifecycle and to build and maintain high-quality features

• Requirements Analysis: Leverage solid experience in requirements engineering for large-scale IT solutions to inform test strategy and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

• Test Management & Documentation: Apply advanced knowledge of test case definition and documentation, effectively utilizing Test Management software like HP ALM.

• Web Application Testing: Utilize strong hands-on experience in Web Application testing, particularly using Selenium with Java.

• Mentorship & Coaching: Continuously coach junior Requirements Engineers and QA-Specialists, fostering their growth and skill development.

• Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and implement improvements in testing processes, methodologies, and tools.

Your skills and experience

• A Bachelor of Science or Master degree with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• Solid experience in requirements engineering for large-scale IT solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of test case definition and documentation, and usage of Test Management software like HP ALM.
• Strong hands-on experience in Web Application testing using Selenium with Java.
• Proven experience in planning and implementing the full set of test automation activities (unit, integration, and UI tests), including the creation, maintenance, and execution of automated tests.
• Experience in developing and extending in-house Test Automation tools and test frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, strong independence and initiative, and the ability to work effectively in agile delivery teams.
• Ability to continuously coach junior Requirements Engineers and QA-Specialists.
• A passion for constantly learning in a constantly evolving web environment.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
