The Senior Purchasing Program Manager (Site) – Clothes Care manages product cost within the GE Appliances’ Laundry product line by supporting projects that drive profitability, quality improvements, and margin optimization. This role serves as the primary sourcing point of contact for site-level execution, acting as the first responder for sourcing and engineering requests and ensuring strong cross-functional coordination across the plant.• Collaborate with product line and cross-functional teams to support product cost-out initiatives, partnering with Central Sourcing, Technology, Manufacturing, Materials, Product Management, and Supplier Quality to enable execution.
• Maintain deep understanding of product line spend and cost drivers.
• Lead cost reduction efforts through RFQs, supplier negotiations, and part standardization.
• Perform competitive analysis and support make vs. buy decisions.
• Support supplier capacity planning and long-term risk mitigation.
• Serve as the primary sourcing contact for site-based engineering and project requests, owning intake, prioritization, and coordination to drive timely and effective implementation.
• Maintain general understanding of current commodity cost drivers, and geopolitical status of suppliers’ countries of manufacture, across the supply base.
• Act as sourcing agent for project leaders supporting COQ and MCTO initiatives.
• Provide fast, solution-oriented support to resolve sourcing-related issues impacting projects and production.
• Own and coordinate sourcing deliverables for Business Change Requests (BCRs) and Change Implementation Board (CIB) participation.
• Participate in and support key business and sourcing review forums including:
- CBT Monthly Reviews and Regular Tie Out with Central Sourcing on Commodity Risks/Opportunities
- Quarterly Risk Reviews to Product Line Leadership
- Weekly XMO Reviews
- Start and Stop Material Meetings
• Ensure sourcing inputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with business objectives.
• Lead RFQ execution for design changes and tooling updates driven by the product line.
• Coordinate supplier communication, quote collection, and timeline management.
• Partner with commodity buyers to align on sourcing strategy and confirm award recommendations.
• Ensure clean handoff of information for final sourcing decisions.
• Serve as central connector between Engineering, Materials, Supplier Quality, Service, and Sourcing.
• Support project teams with tactical sourcing guidance and status tracking.
• Drive issue resolution by coordinating stakeholders and ensuring accountability.
