Director, Project Management – JLL

What this job involves:

The Director, Project Management Position will be dedicated to the Brown-Forman account located in Louisville, KY while services will cover properties including corporate office space, global field offices, distillery homeplaces/visitors centers and selected production properties. The Director will oversee dedicated and variable Project and Program Managers while also managing overall capital budgets, planning, forecasting, tracking, reporting and general oversight of related services while being responsible for leading capital projects, MAC services, and supporting global offices as part of the role and responsibilities. You will provide oversight of account specific Project Management team and related activities while being responsible for attracting, retaining, succession planning and managing a team who is involved with a specific client, functions, and projects.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Provide oversight of account specific Project Management team and related activities
  • Attract, retain, succession plan and manage a team involved with specific client, functions, and projects
  • Help develop protocols and ensure training and development of JLL team members in skills and understanding of firm and client procedures
  • Ensure the project management team is trained in all JLL and client safety related practices and requirements
  • Provide strategic direction and management of capital projects program for both short- and long-term planning, scheduling, budgeting, and sequencing
  • Assist client in developing real estate strategy linked to client business objectives
  • Manage timely and accurate project documentation and reporting including project meeting minutes, work orders, purchase orders, service contracts and change orders
  • Cultivate and maintain positive working relationship with all client representatives and service providers
  • Develop and maintain the Master Project Schedule in oversight of the Project Management team
  • Partner with Account Director, JLL Director, Occupancy Planning and JLL Director of Facilities Management to manage, track and execute set capital plan
  • Guide the client and team through the design implementation process including conceptual, schematic, design development phases
  • Lead management of client capital projects 70% of the time with 30% towards PM team oversight, planning, tracking, training, compliance and administrative activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience providing strategic direction and management of capital projects program for both short- and long-term planning, scheduling, budgeting, and sequencing
  • Proven ability to attract, retain, and manage project management teams
  • Understanding of real estate strategy development linked to client business objectives
  • Experience with timely and accurate project documentation and reporting
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with client representatives and service providers
  • Knowledge of Master Project Schedule development and maintenance
  • Experience with contractor and service provider contract negotiation/verification
  • Understanding of vendor and project team performance management for compliance with contractual requirements
  • Proficiency in the use and application of Project Management technology
  • Experience with design implementation process guidance including conceptual, schematic, and design development phases
  • Knowledge of RFP preparation for vendor and contractor services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience dedicated to specific client accounts in corporate office space, field offices, and production properties
  • Understanding of distillery homeplaces/visitors centers and production property management
  • Knowledge of Brown-Forman or similar corporate account management
  • Experience with Louisville, KY market and regional considerations
  • Understanding of capital budgets, planning, forecasting, tracking, and reporting
  • Knowledge of MAC (Move, Add, Change) services and global office support
  • Experience with succession planning and team development protocols
  • Understanding of JLL and client safety related practices and requirements
  • Knowledge of HSSE teams collaboration and safety practices incorporation
  • Experience with business development and account expansion strategies
  • Understanding of industry gatherings participation and senior leadership representation
