Senior Project Manager

The Red Hat Services team is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join us in Canberra, Australia. In this role, you will manage high-complexity projects to successful completion, from initiation through delivery and closure. You'll coordinate with cross-functional teams to complete distinct projects both on time and within budget. You will play a key role in our customers’ evolution in enterprise development and help make our solutions both practical and workable for their businesses.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Control project requirements, scope, and change management issues

  • Develop project control and reporting procedures and manage changes in operational plan

  • Coordinate cross-functional team meetings (support, finance, sales, resource management, etc.)

  • Assist the Operations team with procuring sub​-contractors when needed

  • Coach and mentor junior-level project managers

  • Work with management to develop project proposals, charters, estimates, and schedules

  • Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to projects

  • Analyze data to evaluate key factors to solve issues

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in a project management role in IT-based projects

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification; working experience with agile and Scrum methodologies and teams

  • Excellent client­-facing and internal communication skills

  • Great written and verbal communication skills

  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills

  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally within all levels of the organization

  • Australian Government security clearance at the Top Secret Positive Vet (PV) level
