The Senior Program Manager, for SOAR at Work reports to the Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and is responsible for the strategic development and day-to-day management of programs that promote employee mental health, personal and company resilience, and overall safety.
This role oversees planning, organization, implementation and execution of all program activities including clinical research projects within the program; ensures compliance with all local, state and national regulations including adherence to Good Clinical Practices (GCP); plans, directs, assigns and monitors program activities and productivity; participates in the development of new projects and protocols; oversees and supervises submission of required regulatory documents and serves as a liaison with the PI, institutional review board (IRB).
This position also oversees training and support initiatives related to suicide and substance abuse prevention, workplace safety, sleep and occupation health - ensuring a safe and supportive work environment. The senior program manager will work with companies statewide in Ohio.
They will develop systems and programs that equip managers and employees with the tools to identify and address at-risk behaviors and to support employees in workplace wellness and safety, plus help-seeking as needed. The role requires collaboration across all levels of the organization and to statewide organizations and businesses who use Workforce Mental Health & Resilience Program services, to integrate wellness and prevention into standard business practices.
The role includes substantial travel and the potential for embedding within contracted workplaces to meet Workforce Mental Health & Resilience Program goals. The role will also work with industry and state representatives to meet program goals and objectives.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in biological or health sciences, or an equivalent combination of education & experience required; Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Public Health preferred. 6 years of relevant experience required planning and administering research projects required, preferably in a health services or clinical research study setting; proficiency with data management required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience working in a corporate or workplace setting is highly desirable. Clinical research certification from ACRP (Association of Clinical Research Professionals) or SOCRA (Society of Clinical Research Associates) certification is strongly desired; working knowledge of medical terminology required. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen and background check.
