Help shape how Australia’s network evolves
Not many roles let you operate at national scale and influence how complex technology is turned into real‑world outcomes. At nbn, this Senior Project Manager role does exactly that.
You’ll lead the delivery of large, complex initiatives that shape how Australia’s network is planned, designed and evolved, including work involving automation and AI‑enabled design. This is a dynamic environment where constraints are actively managed, trade‑offs are unavoidable, and strong delivery judgment matters as much as structured execution. This isn’t just about running projects; it’s about shaping how meaningful work gets done.
A bit about your role
As a Senior Project Manager within our Program Delivery team, you’ll be responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of complex initiatives that contribute directly to nbn’s strategic outcomes.
You will:
Projects span process transformation, digital enablement and increased automation of network planning and design, often in evolving environments where clarity emerges through delivery.
Success in this role depends on strong critical thinking, sound judgment and the ability to maintain delivery momentum in complex conditions where resourcing and sequencing decisions matter.
A bit about you
You are an experienced project or program manager with a strong, demonstrated track record of delivering complex initiatives in technology‑enabled environments.
You’re comfortable:
Experience in telecommunications or large service organisations is valuable but not essential. We’re equally interested in people who bring strong problem‑solving capability, commercial awareness, curiosity about automation and digital tools, and a pragmatic, continuous improvement and adaptable delivery mindset.
About the team
You’ll join a small, experienced team delivering high‑impact change in a genuinely collaborative and psychologically safe environment. We value openness, learning and mutual support, and are honest about the challenges that come with delivering complex change with momentum and sustainability.
While many of our initiatives involve emerging technologies, you don’t need to be a technical expert; curiosity, adaptability and comfort with evolving problem spaces are key.
