C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Robinson Managed Solutions (RMS) team. In this role, you will manage and lead large‑scale, complex projects while being accountable for the strategic leadership, governance, and execution of the cost‑savings program for one of our key customer accounts. Successfully managing projects requires excellent organization, documentation, communication skills as well as the ability to help design innovative solutions when faced with complex issues. To effectively lead a project, you will need to align with all relevant stakeholders both internally and externally. You are accountable to gather voice of Customer, build project charters, develop the project plans, facilitate their delivery, resolve issues and escalate appropriately. If you have outstanding organization, communication and change management skills, this role may be a good fit.
This is a hybrid position with 4 days per week in our Chicago Central location.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
Independently manage and oversee multiple/large-scale, complex projects within a project-based delivery model
Maintain all project related documentation, including project plans, process flows/VSM’s, resource requirements and business cases
Communicate project progress and facilitate project-related meetings to meet deliverables; Escalate quickly as necessary
Lead change management with all stakeholders – internal and external; Lead without authority and be confident and assertive with a willingness to challenge appropriately
Serve as the single point of contact and be accountable for all project related activities & requests
Deliver projects on time and on budget with quality solutions
Develop solutions for improving our tools and processes
Build rapport with project team and customer stakeholders
Anticipate and proactively address internal and external challenges
Successfully transfer knowledge to other relevant internal teams as well as provide support as needed
Leverage technical expertise and relationships to contribute to strategy and drive business results
Report realized vs. planned savings actuals to the account finance team and ensure timely sign‑off, validation, and approval of financial impacts.
Drive alignment and sustained progress against defined, structured processes, ensuring consistency, repeatability, and adherence across teams and workstreams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum 4 years of project management experience, with the proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Work and/or project experience in Supply Chain, Transportation, and/or Logistics
Strong financial literacy, including the ability to understand and communicate cost‑savings concepts, track and validate realized vs. planned savings, and partner effectively with finance teams to report and confirm value realization.
Proven ability to define, outline, and articulate clear, structured process steps to guide projects from inception through execution, ensuring alignment, governance, and consistency across cross‑functional teams.
Ability to work flexible hours (some weekend/late hours may be required)
Ability to travel up to 10% (domestically and internationally)
Preferred:
Project Management Professional certification
Strong communication skills: strong listener with exceptional facilitation skills and the ability to tell the story and connect to your audience
Ability to organize, design, develop and deliver projects for internal and external audiences at all levels
Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts internally and externally at all levels
Experience working and thriving in a continuous improvement environment
Experience and comfort in dealing with ambiguity and able to deliver with minimal oversight
Experience working directly with customers
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
Experience with lean processes and tools

Compensation Range
$94,100.00 - $159,000.00The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base pay only and do not include additional variable compensation.
