We are now looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team!

Your role and responsibilities

You act as Senior Project Manager in the Development Project Management Office (DPMO) and lead strategic digitalization projects throughout their whole lifecycle. You will be in a crucial role in driving digital transformation at Aalto, and your work will have a strong and meaningful impact.

You manage digitalization projects that can be related to various areas such as AI, data management, platform development, and process digitalization. These projects aim to develop our internal services, teaching and research processes, or societal impact. Many of the projects are high-risk and complex, and span across organizational boundaries including multiple business units and services.

In addition to project management, the DPMO is responsible for maintaining and developing project management practices at Aalto. As a Senior Project Manager, you will also contribute to the development of Aalto’s project management practices, and coach and support fellow project managers in navigating and leading digitalization projects.

Your experience and ambitions

What will help you to succeed and enjoy working in this position:

  • Several years of experience in leading complex digitalization projects and driving digital transformation.
  • A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle and strong knowledge of different project methodologies and tools, including agile methods.
  • Excellent skills in collaboration, influencing and working in matrix organizations, & change management skills.
  • Understanding and experience of service design methods.
  • M.Sc./MBA degree or equivalent.
  • As this role involves interaction with numerous different stakeholder groups, fluency in Finnish is required in addition to English.

Considered an advantage

  • Strong understanding and experience related to IT and different technologies.
  • Experience working in Finnish public sector.
  • Understanding digital compliance requirements, like Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, and Data Protection etc.
