Job description for a Sr Program Manager:
The Senior Program Manager is responsible for successfully delivering large, high-impact technology initiatives while simultaneously tracking projects led by Project Managers worldwide. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to understand and prioritize the projects to produce the desired outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Implement technology projects/product development and programs of highly complex, multi-service line, enterprise-level solutions setting realistic expectations, developing implementation methodology and strategy, developing detailed plans to support the strategy, reporting, and execution.
Integrate inputs from cross-functional stakeholders to establish and manage a consolidated scope, schedule, and budget.
Ensure that all projects within the program align with the organisation's strategic goals and objectives.
Understand financial business cases in partnership with key stakeholders to confirm the decision to proceed with new strategic initiatives.
Manage the financial performance for all assigned programs, including actuals vs. budget and monthly forecasts.
Create and manage the program-level schedule by integrating individual workstreams and customer schedules into an overall plan. Manages the identification and coordination of dependent tasks and conflicting priorities.
Ensure internal stakeholder requirements, including performance, quality, and financial goals, are met.
Track and report on project and program performance using metrics and KPIs to measure progress and identify key areas for improvement.
Proactively identify, track, and mitigate portfolio and program risks and blockers, establishing clear escalation paths and contingency strategies to safeguard project timelines and business continuity
Lead and mentor project managers and teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment.
Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the GBS EPMO through lessons learned and other continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead resource planning and prioritization for assigned programs
Communicate clearly and effectively to executive management regarding plans, dependencies, status, and critical issues.
Governance & Framework Design, define and maintain enterprise-wide PMO standards, reporting structures, and financial guardrails to ensure consistent execution across all global programs
Orchestrate Software Product GTM strategy and execution across global functional teams to ensure the organization can support and scale new initiatives post-launch
Planning & Release Orchestration: Lead Program Increment planning sessions to align cross-functional teams on synchronized release cycles, managing the integrated roadmap and commitment of features across the software development lifecycle.
Key Skills, Requirements, and Competencies:
Bachelor's Degree
Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification is preferred
Proven Senior Program Management leader experienced in managing a geographically dispersed team of employees and external contractors
Ability to lead and inspire teams, set direction, and drive project and program success.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effectively interacting with stakeholders, team members, and executives
Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
Ability to align projects and programs with organizational goals and develop long-term strategies
Proficiency in analyzing issues, making informed decisions, and implementing solutions.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Understands budgets, Financial forecasting, and resource allocation.
Ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships, addressing their needs and concerns.
Skilled in negotiating with vendors, clients, and team members to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
Demonstrates global awareness and recognizes the global impact of decisions, with the ability to adjust strategy as necessary
Minimum of 8 years of Senior Project and Program management experience in a matrix and multi-project environment
Good level of empathy, active listening, and ability to manage conflicts
Must have demonstrated ability for independent decision-making, supporting large customer groups, and managing highly visible projects
Must be able to deliver work efficiently through formal and informal channels and display a broad understanding of business practices and policies
Deep technology experience and knowledge of SDLC and agile practices
Proven GTM experience
