The Advanced Electro Optics Group in Raytheon Advanced Technology Strategic Business Unit seeks a dynamic Senior Program Manager for fast paced DARPA-type programs in McKinney, TX.  You will support and/or lead the execution of next generation technology programs, build relationships with customers and our technical teams, and help us grow. The role has a quick pace and requires excellent communication and a healthy mix of technical, managerial, business, and soft skills.  Additionally, you'll constructively add to our creative, collaborative culture, while positioning yourself for future career growth. 

You will primarily lead small, cross-functional teams executing current contracts, support and lead capture activities including proposals, win strategies, cost estimating approach and analysis, and gate reviews. Further responsibilities include developing and communicating strategy and tactics to reduce cost, improve quality, increase performance and reliability, and improve overall competitiveness of the RI&S product lines. This role requires experience in engineering, physics, or another hard science plus basic knowledge in one or more of the following: Physics / Optics / Lasers / Digital Focal Planes.  You don’t have to be the expert, but you need to know the language.

What You Will Do

  • Profit and Loss responsibility for approximately $3M to $20M in annual revenue
  • Directly interface with customers and suppliers
  • Responsible for successful program execution (cost, schedule, and technical performance) and capture of new business while adhering to Raytheon policies and procedures
  • Responsible for customer interface (both internal and external) and customer relationship building including shaping new opportunities
  • Interface with teams across multiple Raytheon sites
  • Regular interface with upper management and all functional areas including but not limited to Finance, Contracts, Engineering, Supply Chain and EX/IM
  • Travel domestically and/or internationally (once per month, dependent on program requirements)

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience in program management or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
  • Experience managing cost, schedule, and performance with use of program management tools such as Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), EAC’s, financial forecasting, Earned Value Management (EVM), Risk and Opportunity management, or similar business processes
  • Program Management or leadership experience
  • Proposal development experience such as BOEs, technical write-ups, and/or Gate presentations
  • An active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Program Management Level 5 Certification or ability to obtain within one year
  • Customer relationship building and collaboration abilities
  • Strong communication and team building skills
  • Ability to operate independently while retaining a larger company focus
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with time critical requirements
  • A strong sense of curiosity, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills to find answers to daily issues
  • Experience working with electro optics or ladar
  • Experience working with Government research laboratories
  • Experience with capture/growth activities and execution of development programs

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
