This program-specific analyst will support analytic needs within the Quality and Health Outcomes Department. Responsibilities include providing consultation, data extraction, and data analysis to be used for decision making. This position collaborates with users at all levels across the health system to create and optimize quality outcomes data analysis for reports and dashboards and offers recommendations for enhancement of data sources and business intelligent solutions consistent with organizational needs.
Essential Functions
Creates and maintains complex analytics and designs and develops integrated subsystems of data reporting. Guides users in formulating requirements; analyzes user proposals and conducts feasibility studies. Recommends optimum approaches, advises on alternatives, and explains the implications of new or revised data processing systems.
Executes on key analytics and reporting requests prioritized by the Quality and Health Outcomes leadership team.
Remains trained and compliant with data governance standards and change control methodology used by the healthcare system. Recommends changes and enhancements as appropriate.
Works with Information Services partners and vendors with file development, file transfer details, and troubleshooting issues.
Responsible for guiding and validating the work of other analysts. Works collaboratively with all members of Information Services.
Provides analytical support for leaders within Quality and Health Outcomes for the purposes of effective decision making and improvement activities. Assists in development of performance measures, dashboards and other requested measures.
Along with the acquisition and use of data to meet organizational objectives, provides programming and querying expertise in the development of reports and business intelligence solutions. This includes, but is not limited to, developing and maintaining SQL stored procedures, SSIS packages, and SSRS reports.
Serves as a liaison for clinical programs, medical leaders, senior leaders and Information Services regarding data standards and requirements.
Performs analysis to resolve system and application issues. Performs complex diagnosis of problems, providing solutions within area of responsibility, and through consulting with Information Services team members; coordinates implementation of fixes and enhancements. Provides backup for other analysts as needed.
Transforms the data model process from Epic Chronicles to Clarity, Caboodle, Cogito, Slicer Dicer, and Reporting Workbench. Skilled at facilitating the integration and import of data external sources, ensuring optimal data extraction points for data set creation and subsequent analysis.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in information technology, statistics or related field; in lieu of degree will consider candidates who have 7 years healthcare analytic related experience required
Experience
5+ years analytical/decision support experience required
Analytical/decision support experience in a health care setting preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires proficiency in one or more programming languages
Knowledge of Epic Clarity and Caboodle, XML, Python, SQL coding, R, and Power BI
Basic understanding of statistical analysis and modeling
Strong analytical skills with experience in the evaluation of data integrity and its associated improvement work as well as senior executive reporting.
Advanced communication skills and the ability to effectively work with physicians, nurses and administrators. The ability to translate clinical requirements to data querying logic.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with multiple departments and external organizations.
Highly skilled in critical thinking ability and strong problem-solving capacity with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Knowledgeable of data warehousing tools and concepts related to creation of source marts and subject area marts.
Ability to break apart complex problems or situations. Create recommendations, document solutions and create deliverables.
Demonstrated ability to configure systems to be consistent with organizational policies/procedures, State/Federal guidelines
