Deutsche Bank’s Innovation team identifies, evaluates, and incubates cutting-edge technical innovation. It is part of the Chief Strategy Office of the bank’s Technology, Data & Innovation (TDI) function and works globally with all business lines and infrastructure functions of the bank. A focus of the team is to create value for clients and the bank using Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models (LLM), Agentic AI and other advanced data-driven technologies.
As a Senior AI Engineer (m/f/x) in the Innovation team of the TDI Chief Strategy Office you will design and deliver scalable, resilient AI solutions from concept to production. This role sits at the intersection of engineering excellence and rapid experimentation, turning high-impact ideas into robust capabilities that can be adopted at scale.

Your key responsibilities
- Leading and overseeing a globally distributed team operating within a follow‑the‑sun support model to ensure continuous service delivery
- Driving execution against strategic objectives by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing clear, data‑driven insights to senior management
- Building strong partnerships with global stakeholders across development, infrastructure, and production functions to proactively identify risks, define remediation strategies, and effectively manage change-related conflicts
- Championing a culture of continuous improvement within the production environment by promoting automation, enhancing monitoring capabilities, and maintaining high standards of platform hygiene
- Conducting in‑depth technical analysis of production platforms to identify, prioritize, and remediate performance, stability, and resilience issues
- Defining and implementing Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and embed Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve service reliability and operational excellence
- Contributing to the development and execution of long‑term organisational and technology strategy
Your skills and experience
- A university degree in a technological or scientific discipline, or equivalent professional experience, preferably within the financial services industry
- Extensive, hands-on experience with Production Application Support and ITIL Practices with a SRE knowledge and mindset
- Proven ability to build effective partnerships, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the capability to operate successfully within a complex, global organisation
- Deep understanding of application Support and/or Development and complex IT infrastructure (UNIX, Database, Middleware, Cloud, MQ etc.)
- Good understanding of most recent technologies, be it cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure), programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python), databases (Postgres, BigQuery, MongoDB), Messaging (MQ, Kafka) or other solutions
- Experience in application performance monitoring tools and visualisation, such as Geneos, Splunk, Grafana and New Relic
