Mission Brief
The Senior Technician in the area of Post Processing takes on demanding technical tasks in the reworking of components and, through their expertise, ensures quality and process reliability in daily operations. Additionally, the Senior supports the team with in-depth system knowledge, structured working methods, and independent problem-solving. In the absence of the team leader, the Senior Technician assumes defined operational coordination tasks to ensure the continuity of daily operations. This does not involve formal leadership responsibilities.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
1. Core Technical Tasks of the Senior Technician for Component Post-Processing
Deburring, grinding, and polishing of components according to quality and drawing specifications
Marking, labeling, and identifying components according to technical documentation
Cleaning and final surface preparation
Proper installation of thread inserts (e.g., Helicoils)
Performing various pressing and joining processes, including preparation of the required components
Manufacturing, adapting, and repairing simple auxiliary fixtures (turning, milling, drilling)
Processing and reporting of production orders in the MES system
Documentation of processed orders and relevant process data
Participation in the optimization of processes, workflows, and standards in the post-processing area
Creation and maintenance of work instructions, process documents, and checklists
Identification and reporting of missing materials, tools, or auxiliary equipment
2. Deputy Tasks in the Absence of the Team Leader: Operational Daily Management
Ensuring an overview of open and ongoing orders
Setting daily priorities within the team
Assignment of tasks based on qualifications, capacities, and order situation
Resolving operational obstacles in day-to-day operations and initiating short-term measures
Coordination with IT/Systems for processing open tickets
Communication with planning/control regarding current production topics
Clarification of component- or process-related questions with quality assurance
Support in ensuring the availability of materials and tools
Initiation of necessary immediate actions in case of missing parts or bottlenecks
Preparation of operational ordering processes within defined frameworks
Passing on relevant information to interface areas and team members
Ensuring complete and traceable documentation in daily operations
Qualification Checklist
Experience in deburring, grinding, and polishing
Manual post-processing of sensitive components
Understanding of fits and surface qualities
Experience in joining and assembly work (mechanical)

Good knowledge of German is required; English skills are desirable
