The Opportunity:
Accountable for the management and development of accurate “Bills of Materials” maintained within the Enterprise Resource Planning System. Ensure that valid Engineering Processes are deployed within the manufacturing process and effectively detailed within the process routing to satisfy requirements of the business MRPII disciplines. Manage the formal Engineering Changes communicated and agreed with the customer and valid agreed internal changes.


Deploy the Continuous Improvement toolset to enable productivity and product quality improvements to be implemented in support of business and customer requirements both internal and within the supply chain. Accountable for the Translation of Design Data (For example CAD/CATIA) and specifications into clear and concise work instructions for manufacturing products to customer and regulatory authority requirements.


Support the Quality and Engineering Team Leader in discharging the people issues such as them PDR, training/development and the related WTMS responsibilities.


How you will contribute to the team:
•    You will translate Design Engineering data and specifications into clear and concise work instructions for manufacturing assemblies and products, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
•    You will develop, maintain and compile detailed work packages and Conditions of Supply documentation for external manufacturing suppliers.
•    You will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality by analysing and eliminating waste, implementing production smoothing methods and Kanban systems, and reducing set-up and cycle times using structured problem-solving tools.
•    You will support the MRB process by providing engineering instructions for rework, scrap and the prevention of non-conforming products.
•    You will develop and implement visible controls, measurement tools and support systems to ensure effective management and control of engineering work packages.
•    You will provide Manufacturing Engineering support to external customers, contractors and suppliers.
•    You will identify training and development needs for Manufacturing Engineering staff through the PDR process and support the ongoing capability of the team.
•    You will manage the introduction of new technical packages into the business, including financial control, vendor selection and approval, monitoring, and establishing appropriate procedures and controls.

About you:
•    Previous experience within a Manufacturing Engineering environment, ideally within the aerospace industry or a similar regulated sector.
•    Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, or able to demonstrate significant equivalent industry experience.
•    Proven experience translating engineering data and drawings into manufacturing processes and documentation.
•    Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, including waste reduction and process optimisation techniques.
•    Experience working with engineering drawings, models and customer systems, with awareness of requirements used by major aerospace customers such as Boeing and Airbus. 
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
