Senior Production & Assembly Engineer (m/f/d)

Munich Full Time

THE ROLE

We are looking for a strategic yet hands-on Production & Assembly Engineer to own and lead the lifecycle of our hardware production for our Sports product. This isn't just about managing a factory line; it’s about architecting the entire production ecosystem. You will be the primary interface with our EMS providers, ensuring that our complex, multi-component IoT systems are built, tested, and assembled with surgical precision and economic efficiency.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • EMS Partner Management: Act as the lead negotiator and operational point of contact for EMS providers. You’ll get involved in the "nitty-gritty" of production contracts, yield improvements, and cost optimizations.
  • Production & Test Automation: Design and oversee the implementation of automated testing environments. You must define what needs to be tested and how to automate the validation of electronics and device assembly.
  • Operational Assembly Coordination: Manage the complex orchestration of multi-component assembly. You will streamline the logistics of bringing disparate parts together into a finished system, identifying areas where manual operations can be replaced by smart automation.
  • DFM (Design for Manufacturing): Provide a feedback loop to our hardware and software teams.
  • Economic Strategy: You’ll analyze the trade-offs between unit costs, tooling investments, and lead times to ensure our scaling is financially sustainable.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Background: Degree in Industrial Engineering (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen), TUM BWL or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience: You have at least 3 years of deep technical experience in hardware production and assembly processes including EOL testing.
  • The Negotiator: Excellent interpersonal skills. You can be firm with suppliers on quality and cost while maintaining a collaborative, long-term partnership.
  • Systems Thinker: You understand the "logic" of hardware/software interaction—you know how firmware flashing, calibration, and final assembly impact the production timeline.
  • Operational Mindset: You are hands-on and come with a "get-it-done" attitude. You enjoy the challenge of coordinating complex logistics and assembly processes.
  • Languages: Fluent in English and German (essential for managing local and international supplier relationships).
  • Location: You are located in Munich and can come to the office weekly
