Boeing Commercial Airplanes is actively seeking a Senior (Level 4 or Level 5) Certification Technician to join our growing Product Security Engineering (PSE) certification team in Seattle, WA or Everett, WA. In this position, you will provide leadership to plan, coordinate, and facilitate the execution of the work required to certify commercial aircraft. You will coordinate resource needs, develop and track schedules, and support the management of the engineering evidence (threat models, risk assessments, architecture diagrams, trace matrices, and test/integration data) that EUM/ODA members use to make findings of compliance.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Assesses risks, threats, and vulnerabilities of the product assets and production systems in accordance with accepted industry, professional, and government standards to ensure security design integrity, availability, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance
  • Own the planning, scheduling, and execution of activities for the PSE EUMs and EUMiTs.  Manage changes, assess impacts to schedule/cost/scope, and incorporate updates into project plans.
  • Support the health, development, and execution of the Product Security Engineering (PSE) EUM talent pipeline. Contribute to workforce skill frameworks, maintain training currency for team, conduct workshops, and support skill-health metrics in coordination with the certification leader and PSE workforce team
  • Plan and coordinate WBS/OBS, schedule and resource loading, performance metrics, and risk/opportunity plans across the project lifecycle; compare actuals to baseline and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Certification/EUM/DAE stakeholders, Systems Engineering, Safety & Regulatory teams, program leadership, and customers to resolve programmatic issues in support of certification activities.
  • Support the full-kit packaging of evidence destined for EUM review (e.g., traceability matrices, threat models, security risk assessments, vulnerability assessment summaries, network architecture diagrams, mitigation descriptions).
  • Drive ideation and implementation of process improvements.
  • Prepare and present program status, assessments, corrective actions, and recommendations to program and Boeing leadership; use KPIs and analytics to drive improvement.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Level 4: 6+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Level 5: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate College Degree
  • Working experience with the Boeing ODA and/or FAA authority delegation processes
  • Working experience with a workflow management tool
  • Demonstrated ability to create, maintain, and status detailed schedules (methods and tools)
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-discipline teams and communicate programmatic status to engineers, suppliers, program leadership, and external stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with talent pipeline management
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts applicable to avionics and aircraft systems (threat modeling, security risk assessments, vulnerability assessment inputs, secure network architecture, and mitigation documentation)
  • Familiarity with systems engineering, system integration, and/or airplane system concepts
  • Familiarity with systems engineering tools for traceability, requirements management, configuration control, and verification/validation
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Working knowledge in systems, engineering, systems integration, airplane systems, and/or airplane certification
  • Bachelor degree
  • Experience in cybersecurity, security network architecture, embedded systems security, security testing and evaluation, network design, cyber physical systems or PKI infrastructure.
  • Experience coordinating and presenting technical content to a wide audience
  • Possess one or more security certifications, including but not limited to: CISSP; Security+; CEH; CCNA; UNIX/LINUX System Administration; GIAC GPEN, GWAPT, or GXPN; Offensive Security Certified Engineer (OSCE); Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)

Summary Pay Range:

  • Senior (Level 4): $114,750 - $155,250
  • Senior (Level 5): $140,250 - $189,750
