Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Product Quality Engineer to support our fire suppression product portfolio at our Wilson, NC location. In this role, you’ll provide technical expertise and drive quality excellence across manufacturing and development processes to ensure product integrity, compliance, and customer satisfaction. This position is ideal for a quality professional seeking career growth in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As an individual contributor, you’ll influence the development, application, and improvement of quality systems and protocols that uphold Collins’ commitment to operational excellence.

What You Will Do:

  • Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for manufacturing products.

  • Ensures that projects and/or process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.

  • Reviews and makes recommendations for Quality Assurance plans, guidelines, policies, and processes to ensure the achievement of Quality targets.

  • Collects and analyzes data for the development of quality strategy and programs to ensure on-going reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes.

  • Performs escape management procedures and leads teams to investigate the root cause of customer escapes and non-conformances as well as implement corrective/preventive actions.

  • Provides technical guidance and support and maintains a strong working relationship with the inspection and operations teams.

  • Develops new inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance.

  • PPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, and Control Plans) to identify and make recommendations for managing risk in product development.

  • Participates in internal, customer, and third-party regulatory audits.

  • Supports Material Review Board (MRB) activities.

  • Supports review and implementation of engineering change orders.

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

  • Manufacturing experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with root cause analysis and MRB

  • Six Sigma/Lean deployment and process improvement experience (green belt preferred).

  • AS9100 experience

  • GD&T knowledge

  • Experience with SAP and ETQ ideal

  • Mechanical engineering experience

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
