Datalinx is responsible for implementing and leading the TMX enterprise approach to innovative technology and data driven solutions. The purpose is to build a richer client experience across the capital markets community by providing ready access to data and analytics products. Datalinx works in collaboration with all TMX business areas to develop and deliver solutions and strategies that benefit the organization at large.

Product Development: This includes solutions delivered by TMX directly, in partnership with others, or via external platforms
Platform Strategy and Management: TMX will bring products and channels together to create an interactive client community that will serve to inform and encourage new effective solutions

Insights & Analytics: The design, creation and delivery of new data-driven solutions and capabilities across our entire business

The Senior Product Manager, Private Assets is accountable for defining and implementing Datalinx’s overall private asset data product strategy to accelerate growth of the business. This includes outlining the global business needs across all client segments for private asset data products (including asset owner and managers, capital markets participants and corporations), defining and prioritizing new product plans and requirements, ensuring new products satisfy market needs, and working closely with technology, sales and marketing when bringing solutions to the industry.

The individual will own and lead the private asset data P&L with a goal of achieving revenue and profitability growth across the product line.

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute on the private asset data strategy, including conducting market landscape, competitive analysis, and developing a strategic plan. Define and manage the product roadmap, prioritizing data content and specifications based on customer feedback, market trends, and business objectives. 

  • Product Definition & Development: Lead identification and manage development of partnerships and advise on buy vs. build approach. Assess market needs and commercial viability, including the development of commercial model and packaging discussions. Develop and drive product results, including revenue, product excellence, usage and market penetration.

  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new products and partnerships, including positioning, messaging, pricing, and sales enablement.  Clearly articulate the value proposition of TMX private asset data products. 

  • Vendor & Partnership Management: Identify and manage vendor partnerships and relationships, ensuring the quality and reliability of our data sources. Participate in pricing discovery with the sales team and partners to identify optimal pricing and commercial models.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with development teams, sales, marketing, legal and other internal teams to ensure the successful development, launch, and adoption of our products. Connect with all stakeholders regarding product changes, performance or other key client/competitor issues.

  • Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify new product opportunities and inform product strategy.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze data to identify trends, measure product performance, and make data-driven decisions.

  • ESG Product Support: Support ESG strategy, product integration and sales engineering for existing ESG product line. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of product management or investment experience in the area of private assets with exposure to one or more of private equity, private debt, infrastructure and real estate

  • A solid understanding of the investment lifecycle and the how data and research management systems are used across the investment lifecycle

  • Experience with portfolio construction and management processes across private assets, including private equity, private debt, infrastructure and real estate

  • Ability to foster and develop positive relationships with internal team members and external business partners

  • Validated skills and experience in quantitative analysis and/or financial engineering skills in financial products

  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication

  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced team environment

  • Excellent presentation abilities, including experience presenting to colleagues, management, executive management, clients and partners
