Your role:
The Product Management team provides product line support and service for our investment capabilities. The team is responsible for delivering high-quality content and managing key product initiatives to support new business development efforts.
This team plays a critical part in effectively positioning our products across channels ensuring alignment with investment teams, Client Portfolio Managers (CPMs), distribution and marketing. As part of Invesco’s Global Product organization, Product Management is part of a cohesive team along with product platform management and product development that supports the full product life cycle for our investment capabilities to best align client needs with Invesco business goals.
What you will be doing:
Work closely with the team’s portfolio managers and CPMs to build and maintain a deep knowledge and understanding of the investment team, their philosophy and process as well as the strategies and underlying porfolios and accounts managed by the team.
An ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into cohesive product/strategy insights.
Responsible for month- and quarter-end product collateral update process & deliverables, including commentary writing, coordinating efforts between departments (i.e. Distribution, marketing, finance, GDS)
Stay current on market, industry & product trends, with an awareness of competitive landscape/peer group and competitive developments in all relevant distribution channels.
Act as a “general manager” for their strategies ensuring the delivery of high-quality product material to meet client needs
Assist in the development and implementation of business plans to drive organic growth, profitability and asset retention, may also be asked to collaborate with CPMs on production of the plan
In partnership with the Client Portfolio Managers and investment team, develop & maintain a message for clients and prospects regarding the investment capabilities of the team’s various strategies. This includes playing a prominent role in creating and reviewing marketing materials, and supporting CPMs in regular communications analysis and insights to our Sales team for use with clients
Alongside CPM’s, develop & maintain effective product marketing initiatives designed to build sales momentum and/or defend a critical investment franchise.
Responsible for positioning a set of investment strategies, researching product/competitive trends, and driving product management initiatives internally.
Liaise with key stakeholders within the firm to ensure all data and responses regarding a given product are accurate and consistent.
What you will bring:
Extensive experience in financial services.
Technical skills, including strong investment acumen, understanding of financial markets and economics, proficiency with Bloomberg, Microsoft Office, Morningstar and other software products.
Excels at articulating a strategy’s investment process, portfolio positioning and rationale for specific holdings within the portfolio.
Working closely with CPMs and acts as a liaison between the portfolio management team and both internal and external constituents on product-specific matters.
Must have a understanding of the markets and have credible perspective for both fundamental and macro-economic factors affecting the respective asset class.
Highly engaged, confident and continually strive to improve themselves, their work, and their environment.
Must have knowledge of the investment philosophy and process of each investment product supported. This includes a detailed understanding of current investment themes within the portfolio, knowledge of portfolio holdings, risk attributes of the strategy, past and current positioning of the portfolio, near-term outlook for the strategy and performance attribution.
Entrepreneurial spirit, with a focus on continuous improvement, willingness to take risks, embrace and lead change, determination to find creative solutions to problems. Strong work ethic and drive to succeed.
Passion for industry and capital markets is a must.
Undergraduate degree required, preferably in business or related discipline
MBA/CFA preferred
Highly developed written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex investment topics within written material.
People and influence management skills; previous people management experience an asset.
