Role Purpose
The Senior Product Manager – Connectivity & Telephony will lead the extension, enhancement and management of TalkTalk’s connectivity and telephony portfolio, and make a success of our strategic partnership with PXC. This role ensures the delivery of outstanding, customer-centric products and services that support TalkTalk’s vision and growth ambitions. The postholder will champion innovation and operational excellence, ensuring TalkTalk and its partners remain competitive in a fast-evolving market.
Main Responsibilities
Be seen as the go to subject matter expert on all our connectivity and telephony products and services
Have a thorough knowledge of our connectivity and telephony cost models and P&L
Act as a key PXC interface, ensuring that a positive partner and customer tension is evident in the relationship
Work with PXC to onboard, understand and homogenise our AltNet services
Be aware of & understand current and upcoming regulatory imperatives and ensure the required development activities are justified, scheduled and delivered accordingly
Take responsibility for ensuring the GPL process is compliant and understood across the business and outcomes optimised.
Ensure non-standard processes like tech migrations etc. are fit for purpose and ready to support commercial initiatives and technology obsolescence programmes
Develop and execute the product strategy for connectivity and telephony, with an emphasis on partnership-driven initiatives with PXC.
Be a vulnerable customer champion and ensure our connectivity and telephony solutions meet the cohorts needs
Work hand in hand with the senior CPE product manager to align roadmaps and ensure the best possible customer experience
Deliver product enhancements and new speeds, ensuring all our services are simple, reliable, and aligned with customer needs.
Manage the product lifecycle, including market analysis, requirements definition, roadmap planning, and performance tracking through to end of life.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Connectivity & retention squads, Commercial, Marketing, CX, Ops etc.) and external partners (notably PXC, OR and AltNets) to drive product improvements and enhancements
Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making, prioritise initiatives, and measure product success against key business metrics.
Advocate for the customer voice in all product decisions, ensuring a seamless and delightful experience across connectivity and telephony services.
Represent TalkTalk in partner-facing forums, building strong relationships and ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Knowledge:
Deep understanding of the telecoms sector, particularly connectivity (broadband, Wi-Fi) and telephony products.
Familiarity with product management methodologies, agile delivery, and end-to-end product lifecycle.
Awareness of partner management approaches and commercial frameworks.
Skills:
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, able to influence at all levels internally and externally.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-led approach to prioritisation and decision-making.
Effective communicator, able to convey complex ideas simply and build consensus.
Project delivery expertise, with a track record of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience:
Significant experience (typically 5+ years) in product management within telecoms or technology sectors.
Proven record of delivering successful products in partnership-driven settings.
Exposure to managing third-party partner relationships, ideally in a strategic context.
Existing knowledge of PXC structure and relationships within PXC would be beneficial.
