Our Team:
Join Semtech’s AirLink Software Product Management team – a high-performing group at the intersection of embedded systems, cloud services, and mission-critical connectivity. We own the software and services layer of AirLink’s networking solutions, from the edge operating system to cloud management platforms and value-added services. Our work directly enables utilities, public safety agencies, and industrial operators to securely connect, manage, and protect their critical infrastructure.
Job Summary:
The Senior Product Manager, AirLink Software & Value-Added Services is a hands-on product management role focused on driving the strategy, roadmap, and execution for AirLink’s embedded software platform and value-added services portfolio. This role owns the product lifecycle for AirLink OS edge software capabilities, software partnerships, and services that extend the value of AirLink hardware deployments – including networking, secure connectivity, and edge compute/AI enablement.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role within a rapidly evolving business, working at the intersection of embedded systems engineering and commercial product management. The ideal candidate combines deep technical fluency in embedded Linux, containerized applications, and edge computing with the business acumen to define pricing models, negotiate technology partnerships, and drive software attach rates across AirLink’s installed base. Beyond technical depth, this person brings go-to-market instincts and business development experience with the ability to articulate the outcomes and real-world value that technology delivers to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Embedded Software Strategy & Roadmap
Own the product roadmap for AirLink OS edge software capabilities, including firmware features, SDK/API enablement, container runtime, and security frameworks. Define requirements and priorities in partnership with engineering, translating customer and market needs into actionable specifications. Drive the evolution from monolithic firmware toward a modular, container-based edge software architecture.
Value-Added Services & Technology Partnerships
Own the product lifecycle for value-added services. Manage technology partner relationships end-to-end – from technical evaluation and POC through commercial negotiation and go-to-market execution. Drive software attach rates and recurring revenue growth across the AirLink installed base.
Technical Execution & Engineering Partnership
Serve as the primary product management interface to embedded software engineering. Define acceptance criteria, manage beta programs, and ensure on-time delivery of firmware releases. Own technical documentation, release notes, and developer-facing content. Coordinate certification and carrier approval processes for software releases.
Go-to-Market & Commercialization
Develop pricing, packaging, and positioning for embedded software features and value-added services. Partner with product marketing on competitive differentiation, sales enablement, and launch strategies. Support sales teams in strategic customer engagements requiring deep technical product expertise. Represent AirLink software capabilities at industry events and partner forums.
Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with management platform product management, GTM product management, sales, and operations to ensure embedded software and services strategy is aligned with overall AirLink business objectives. Contribute to competitive intelligence and market analysis. Participate in customer advisory engagements and QBR processes to validate roadmap priorities.
Minimum Qualifications:
7+ years of product management experience in embedded software, IoT platforms, or networking products.
Strong technical fluency in embedded Linux, firmware development processes, and edge computing architectures.
Demonstrated success managing technology partnerships and commercializing value-added services in a B2B or enterprise environment.
Experience defining product requirements for embedded systems, APIs, SDKs, or developer platforms.
Proven ability to drive cross-functional execution across engineering, sales, and marketing without direct authority.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts for business audiences.
Required travel up to 25%.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience with containerized edge compute, OpenWRT/Yocto, or secure open-source frameworks.
Previous experience at networking, IoT, or industrial technology companies with channel-based go-to-market models.
Understanding of cellular carrier certification processes, regulatory compliance, or public safety/utility technology environments.
Experience with technology partner management, OEM licensing models, or software distribution through channel partners. Familiarity with WAN bonding, VPN/ZTNA, eSIM (SGP.32), or edge AI/ML applications.
