What you will do:
- The Senior Product Designer will own product design end to end, from problem definition through to shipped and iterated product, across RAMPP trading desk platforms. This means staying involved through launch and iteration, not simply stopping at handoff.
- The designer will clarify intent, draft design briefs, surface edge cases, and align quickly with business and engineering counterparts before committing significant design effort—leveraging AI-assisted tools such as Copilot or Claude where they add speed or clarity. Self-serve validation is a core expectation: the designer will engage directly with trading desk users and operations staff, run lightweight usability tests, and feed findings back into design direction rapidly, treating research as a velocity tool rather than a gate.
- The designer is expected to prototype and explore flows using whatever approach is fastest and most pragmatic—whether Figma, coded prototypes in React or HTML, or AI-assisted tools such as Cursor and Claude Code. Regardless of method, deliverables must provide sufficient state coverage, system alignment, and production-readiness for developer handoff.
- As the team moves toward AI-assisted workflows, the designer is expected to be an early adopter, using these tools to explore interface behaviors early and accelerate iteration in partnership with business and engineering stakeholders.
- The designer will proactively identify UX risks, data presentation issues, and control deficiencies in trading workflows, raising and addressing these through proper product channels in a timely manner.
- Beyond individual delivery, this role contributes to RAMPP and Capital Markets design patterns, component libraries, and a culture of quality—sharing prompts, learnings, and standards with the broader design community. Participation in critiques, reviews, and cross-team collaboration with the wider Capital Markets community is expected and valued. The role also carries the standard responsibility to review and comply with all Firm Policies applicable to its business activities.
Must have:
- Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, preferably in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of product design experience is required, ideally within financial services, fintech, or complex data-intensive applications.
- Strong Figma skills are essential, including component systems, auto-layout, full state coverage, and handoff practices.
- Experience with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools—such as Claude, Cursor, v0, or equivalent—is required, as is a demonstrated ability to conduct and apply user research within fast-moving delivery cycles.
- Candidates must be comfortable reading and interpreting structured data, risk metrics, and financial terminology at a working level.
Nice to have:
- Prior exposure to trading desk workflows, equity derivatives, or capital markets products is highly desirable and will be a differentiating factor.
- The role demands someone who is highly motivated, capable of working independently, and able to manage priorities across concurrent workstreams in an agile environment.
- The ability to prototype interactive flows in code—HTML, CSS, and JavaScript—or via AI-generated code is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication skills are required: the designer must be able to present and walk through design rationale clearly with senior RAMPP and QTS stakeholders, as well as with trading desk users who hold deep domain expertise.
- A quick learner who can build working knowledge of risk, P&L, and pricing concepts over time will thrive in this role.
- Comfort operating within a global, agile team with shifting priorities and tight timelines is essential.
