We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer I to join Fairmarkit’s Product Design team with a primary focus on Design Systems and Visual Foundations. You’ll ensure our product experiences feels cohesive, scalable, and beautifully executed — as we solve complex procurement challenges.
This is a great fit for someone who loves systems thinking, UI craft, and strong visual storytelling, and wants to elevate how an entire product suite looks, feels, and functions.
Why this role matters
Fairmarkit supports teams making high-stakes purchasing decisions every day. A strong Design System helps us scale clarity, trust, and efficiency across every workflow, while a thoughtful visual language makes complex tasks feel approachable and easy to navigate. In this role, you’ll shape the foundations that hundreds of product decisions build on: the components, patterns, guidelines, and visual standards that keep the experience consistent, accessible, and unmistakably Fairmarkit.
Responsibilities : What You’ll Do
Design System leadership & evolution
- Own the Design System. Create, refine, and maintain reusable components, patterns, and guidance.
- Define visual foundations. Set standards for typography, color, spacing, elevation, iconography, and states.
- Establish quality bars. Run audits, create examples, and guide teams toward consistent high craft.
- Drive adoption and enablement. Roll out updates, support designers/engineers, and incorporate feedback.
- Bake in accessibility. Ensure WCAG-aligned foundations and components by default.
Visual design + product craft
- Translate brand into UI. Bring Fairmarkit’s brand to life through modern product visuals.
- Deliver high-craft UI. Produce polished, production-ready screens with strong hierarchy and detail.
- Use typography intentionally. Apply type scale, rhythm, and layout to create clear structure.
- Design with color expertise. Use color/contrast to improve readability, emphasis, and state clarity.
- Create scalable assets. Maintain icons, illustrations, empty states, and data-viz styles within the system.
- Define micro-interactions. Document behaviors and full state coverage across components.
- Simplify complexity visually. Make dashboards, tables, filters, and workflows easy to scan and use.
- Champion consistency. Reduce visual drift and align surfaces across product teams.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Stay close to product problems. Ensure system work supports real, current product needs.
- Partner deeply with Engineering. Align on tokens, component behavior, parity in code, and QA.
- Use insight to improve the system. Leverage audits, feedback, usability testing, and metrics to evolve foundations.
Requirements : What We’re Looking For
- Senior product design experience. 6+ years designing digital products, ideally B2B SaaS/enterprise.
- Exceptional visual craft. Portfolio showing strengths in typography, layout, hierarchy, and UI polish.
- Design systems contributions. Evidence of foundation/component/pattern work and adoption impact.
- Expert Figma skills. Mastery of libraries, variants, auto-layout, and prototyping.
- Responsive and accessible UI fluency. Deep knowledge of states, breakpoints, and inclusive patterns.
- Complex data comfort. Experience designing for dashboards, tables, and multi-role workflows.
- Clear English communication. B2+ proficiency.
Nice to have
- Tokens or coded library experience. Familiarity with design tokens and Storybook-style systems.
- Enterprise domain familiarity. Procurement, ERP, fintech, or workflow-heavy products.
- UX writing skills. Strong microcopy instincts for system and product clarity.
- Enablement experience. Leading workshops, critiques, or trainings to drive adoption.
- Tooling familiarity. Maze, Miro/FigJam, Confluence, Jira, etc.
